My family came here and ate outside at one of the shaded picnic tables in the field next to the restaurant. We were able to... bring our dog - which is always a plus - and the food and service were great! I highly recommend the trout sandwich! Read more

Do you like trout? Then this is the ONLY place to get it!. The fries are on point. You must try the bread toasted with butter &... you got to ask for the strawberry jelly to go on it. I promise you won't be disappointed with anything you order here. Read more

This place has the absolute best food, I've eaten a lot of places throughout VA and enjoy some great food. But this place is a... hidden gem, not a diamond in the rough, it's a perfect clarity princess cut diamond set perfectly in a place your least expectto find food this good. You cannot pass through without stopping at least once. Featuring all local fresh ingredients, homemadedelicious bread (seriously the best bread). I recommend anything, but have personally tried and loved the BLT (truly legendary),the Ruben, homemade bacon cheese burger, trout sandwich, and homemade fries. They also sell cuts of local meats when in stock, local honey, homemade local & compound butter, and local ciders. The staff only make this stop even more enjoyable, the energyis fun and inviting and they're happy to crack a joke. Absolutely amazing customer service and their knowledge of food isastounding. There's places that make just good food to churn it out and then there's places that really understand food and makeshow stopping dishes. This is one of them, whether you eat in, take out, or eat at their available outdoor area, PLEASE do notpass White's Wayside. Read more

White's Wayside is simply phenomenal! Everything on the menu is local, and they bake their own bread. The hamburgers are plump... and juicy, and are served on buttery, toasted sourdough that make it perfectly savory. There's also a section that sells retailitems, like local honey and syrup, as well as their own breads and other baked goods. You will absolutely love your visit here! Read more

When you find that magical place of great food at the end of a sweet country drive. This is one of those places. Show up and... plan to wait for a table! They have a most amazing cinnamon roll that I would suggest getting and sharing while you wait. It'lljust make you so happy ???? They make their own bread and every plate has a toasted slice with this strawberry spread that justbegs you to dip that toast. Grits? You like them? My wife for the first time ever didn't doctor them up at all. Lol! The ownershave a solar array that helps power the restaurant and have a bee hive panel inside to help educate about them. So find them onthe map and drive on out. You won't be disappointed. Read more

Dear friends took me to White's Wayside and I loved every bit of the lovely drive complete with fall colors down windy country... roads lined with streams and quaint houses. The atmosphere inside could place you 100 years in the past, the service sweet andthe food delightful. Every bite. Their bread is famous, thickly sliced, lightly buttered, and toasted just enough and not toomuch. I can't claim to have had better. The BLT was perfect in every way, thick, crisp bacon, a nice tomato for November, andWhite's homemade crackers are not-too-crisp thin buttered toasts. They have a beekeep, and it was fun to see the hive behindplexiglass and identify the queen. Picnic tables outside, and a story by my friend's daughter about how she helped a Quakeryouth group build a solar panel for them and was fed well when she was in middle school. What a treasure, I'll certainly make myway back! Read more
