Stopped for breakfast on the morning after Thanksgiving. Ordered bacon, eggs, home fries, wheat toast. Bacon was just the way I... like it, crispy but not incinerated. Escape the heat! This diner serves all day breakfast and has a good selection of American and Mexican style food. The dining... area is nice and cool when the outdoor is at 104. The summit is a bit cooler than the valley temps. They have outdoor diningtables in the shades when the temp cools. They also have a small gift shop that sell home made syyrups, preserves etc. Thepancakes, bacon and eggs were delicious and cooked to order. The breakfast burrito was wrappwd with a full size tortilla. Thecheese burger was cooked well. Large parking lot that serves both the restaurant and gas station. A fun stop in the middle of this portion of the California dessert. Just a few miles from the Joshua Tree exit. We didn't eat... at the diner but checked out the gift shop full of locally made jams, salsas, fresh baked sweet breads, etc. There's also theGeneral Patton Museum next door. Read more

We stopped for gas and found this little gem. I am so glad we checked it out. Our breakfast was delish and everyone who worked... there was so polite and kind. Great customer service. Our waitress Cynthia was so sweet and polite. Everyone worked well witheach other (Marina) and they all addressed the customers the same way. They never wavered. Their gift shop was amazing. I foundsome things for myself. I would highly recommend a stop at this amazing place. By the way they offer outside dining as well. Theweather was perfect. They do offer lunch as well. Very clean. Great DINER feel. They also have an outdoor patio...April is a perfect time to sit out there. Marina and Cynthia... were pleasant, attentive and on the ball. We use this little gem as a break point on our way to the Parker Strip quite often. Gives you a spot to hit the restroom, grab a... bite to eat, buy souvenirs, or just to stretch your legs. There's a post office and a little patio with tables and chairs thatfeels like your in a beautiful garden. And don't forget the shrine. That's just a bonus to this wonderful spot. Read more
