Server was great but both steaks ordered were over cooked. I order country fried steak and asked to substitute the grilled... veggies for fried okra. This was confirmed atleast 3 times by the server ensuring I ordered country fried steak..mashedpotatoes and okra (as opposed to grilled vegetables) with the server asking if I wanted white or brown gravy on my potatoes. Myorder came and I got a double order of okra but no potatoes. When I questioned this...the server informed me that the cooktold her that even though the error was HER fault...if I wanted mashed potatoes I'd have to pay for them. Me and my husband decided to ride our bike to go eat there yesterday and when we got there I walked in and some old man running... the front immediately said "We are not seating anymore people tonight we are short staffed and can't cook for the people we haveseated right now". It was 7:30. I said "oh no we rode our bike all the way out here to eat" and he said, "Well we aren'tseating anybody else". He was a very rude man, maybe the owner I don't know but I will never go back there again. I have neverbeen to a restaurant that turned people away before in my life and just like this, if you do, you will never see me back and Iwill make sure everyone knows how you treat your customers!!! First time visit tonight. Wait was a little longer then expected but given that it was near the holidays, we wasn?t surprised.... Food was worth the wait!!!! Ladies provided exceptional service and was very attentive. We will absolutely return. So far bestplace to eat in Chickasha! Read more
We've wanted to try Rock Island for a while. It was just ok. The chips and salsa was the best thing. I had tea and lemonade that... was so weak, it tasted like soured water. My seafood platter looked overcooked but I think the grease was either too hot or tooold because the batter was gummy next to the fish/shrimp. The fries tasted like old grease and were dark, too. My husband hadfajitas. They were ok, but sorely lacking in peppers. He found 3 tiny pieces and the rest was onions. Our server was mediocre.She took our order, someone else gave us our food, and we didn't see her again until we were ready for the ticket. She neverasked if our food was ok, if we needed a refill, etc. Meanwhile, the server for the table next to ours was excellent. Shechecked on her diners, kept their drinks filled, and did her job. I was here for lunch. The waitstaff was nice and attentive, but the food was just slightly better than ok. In their defense, I... had a Mexican lunch and maybe that isn?t really what they excel in, but most of the meals were not something a vegetarian couldeat, so Mexican was the best option. The salsa is not worth the chip calories. My exact words on the first bite was, ?oh, that?sdisappointing.? I asked for Cholula and it was watered down. Overall, I would not go back, but the field in the back had prairiedogs and that was really cool! I may stop by to look at them again. Read more
