Reviews for Zizi's Cafe in Chicago, IL
Good food. Little bland for my taste when it came to the wrap. Can definitely use some form of spicey sauce. Soup was good,... bread was good and everything else was good as well. Overall really good. Highly recommend for a Turkish place. Read more
This is what a gold standard local restaurant looks like from where I’m at right now having tried it for the first time. The... staff here seem to really care—we had John (tall blonde guy) and he was the best. He’ll hook you up right if you need anyguidance. We wanted dessert but were so full and couldn’t decide. He gave us a couple baklava to try and they weredelicious. Really fantastic service with delicious food provided by people who seem to take a lot of pride in what they make. Ijust love to see food treated in such a respectable and loving way overall. Doner Iskender platter is a must order. The meatwith sauce on a bed of chewy and crispy bread along with the yogurt is top notch. Lahmacun we were told is as Turkish as youcan get, and we loved it. Like a “Turkish pizza” it’s pretty light but very tasty. The pro tip we were given was to putthe onions, parsley, and lemon juice on it flat, then roll it up to eat it. Excited to return. Excited to try the Kunefedessert, which was highly recommended. Excited to get my butt over to Turkey which I have yet to do. Read more
we've had this on our "to go" list for a while as i've been passing it on my bike and walking for years. finally stopped in this... morning for lunch, and so glad we did. such a pleasant experience overall (service and food were excellent). John was apleasure to meet and was cheerful, helpful in recommending and helping us decide, and all around good dude. the food wasincredible, we tried: cigar borek (feta) lahmacun doner iskender platter () doner kebab baklava and also the Turkish soda, which i love. needless to say everything we had was excellent but the iskender was phenomenal. can't wait to go back! Overall it was a great experience. It is a family-owned Mediterranean restaurant. We went to Zizi with our friends, and it was... too busy. But they were always good-humored, friendly, and helpful. We tried Sultan platter and Beyti; everything wasdelicious!!! It was the best meal ???? I have tried in the US. The service was perfect. Can’t wait to go there again. Reallyrecommended! There was self-pay parking in front of the restaurant. Read more
This is now one of my favorite dine in places to visit in Chicago. If you are looking for some authentic Turkish cuisine, then... this is the place to visit. The staff is always welcoming and courteous. I was served some complementary bread and a dish madeof carrots, zucchini and yogurt; which is what makes the service of this place unique. I had Red Lentil Soup and Iskander Kababplatter which was delicious, so I would recommend you guys to try it. Owais Read more

They brought out some water for him and weren't intrusive in anyway. The FOOD!! Oh my I've never beenexcited for Mediterranean food but this place changed that. I got the Adana Kebab platter and I LAUGHED the food was so good.I've never done that before so take that for what it's worth. Good food quality, very reasonable prices and excellent service! They gave us on-house Turkish tea at the end. All in all, I... believe that 5 is a fair score. Read more
We came here with a fairly large group and were able to try eachother's food. EVERYTHING was exceptional and cooked to... perfection. It's honestly hard to say what the favorites were because everything was a 5/5...you really can't go wrong. The nexttime we come in we're ordering the fish. We saw another table get it and it looked like a very fresh whole fish. Read more
