My first time being here after a concert at Aragon ballroom and people were singing karaoke and having a good time. My friends... and I wanted to sign up and I asked a girl near the table if she knew where to sign up and she warned me that the dj was an?a**hole?. I was by the djs booth to see if there was anywhere to sign up and I put my drink down on the table. The dj yelled atme and took my drinks and moved it to another table and told me I have to go on the other side and ask him instead of trying tohelp me nicely. I had my Credit Card Stolen from the Byline the other night and the card was taken to the Uptown Lounge right next door and... $200.00 was charged to it. It appears that when they check IDs they don't confirm the name on a the Charge card to theyconsumers ID. I know this is not a regular practice but should be for situations like this. If there is one recommendation Iwould give is to take the extra step and confirm a Charge cards name to the one on the persons ID. Thanks, Read more
Good service, but guys, the prices... $13 for a 16oz Daisy Cutter? In a CAN? It's a good spot but they're making a pretty penny... off their beers. I stopped in to the Uptown yesterday evening when I arrived a little too early for a show at the Aragon. The barkeep was... friendly and prompt to check my vaccination status, and didn't even miss a beat or raise an eyebrow when I asked if he had anyhot drinks. He had some seriously delicious hot cocoa whipped up in no time, and I had a lovely evening of conversation and goodmusic (before and after the switch to house music to honour the night's show at the Aragon). They had Star Wars on one screen,basketball on the second, and another movie on the third-- had I not had wonderful convo with one of the regulars, that varietywould have been deeply appreciated. I'm also given to understand that there's karaoke, which is *always* a hoot. Overall, Ithoroughly enjoyed myself-- not something I get to say often when just ambling in to a bar solo to order a nonalcoholic drinkand pass some time. I absolutely recommend the Uptown Lounge! Every time I come in here, I'm not disappointed. The staff is great. They always remember my regular order. The food is... great. I highly recommend you add this to your usual stops. Turn it to 11! Read more
Late night dive right off of Lawrence in Uptown. Fantastic bartenders and karaoke on Sunday.
