Reviews for Tropicuba Cafe in Chicago, IL
This is my "go to" everytime I'm in the city craving a home cooked meal. Jibarito is my fav, the cuban sandwich size can be hit... or miss, but always delicious. We also have gotten many dif dinners/guisadas here and all were perfect/fantastic! Read more
On a whim, dropped in and ordered a little bit of everything from the appetizer section to get a variety since I couldn't... choose. Let me say ,there was nothing I didn't like, in fact it was all delicious. Everything was fresh and made to order. I'mlooking forward to going back soon and trying some more items on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant. Read more

First I have to say the staff was very friendly and my food was done quickly as well. I ordered the steak Cuban sandwich. The... steak was tender and perfectly seasoned. All of the ingredients were fresh and the bread was perfectly toasted. It definitelyreminded me of my favorite Cuban restaurant in Miami. Read more
The most disgusting Cuban food I?ve ever had to be honest. I ordered beef stew with yucca and the meat was so tasteless!!!... Literally had no seasoning. And my husband ordered chicken and his chicken as well had no flavor! Not to mention the yucca !!!!I absolutely love yucca and was excited to eat it and when they served it to me it was like as if they had just steamed it anddumped it in a bowl. It had absolutely no garlic or sauce or anything ! It was so dry I was appalled and surprised that they hadthe audacity to serve me that trash. I?m Cuban myself so I know I have high expectations but man this wasn?t even ?alright? itwas straight up trash. $35 thrown away on disgusting food. Do not recommend. Read more
Great tostones, jibaritos, and steak sandwich. The alcapurrias were a little soggy the first time I went, but that was like at... 3pm. The second time I went was closer to noon, and they were much better. Read more
Place was fairly new when my family and I went, but that didn?t change a thing. Food was still awesome! I only got a picture of... the Media Noche, but we also got a Cuban and of course we got some Pastelitos. Parking lot SUCKS, but it is what it is. Plentyof parking on the side street or even Irving. Don?t let that stop you from checking it out! Read more
