Reviews for The Waterfront Cafe in Chicago, IL
Awesome place to grab a bite! The food was good but the seating and environment were unreal. The restaurant has done a fabulous... job of integrating into the park in a way that makes it feel like it has always belong there and doesn?t disrupt local access. The entire cafe is on the water, close enough hear the waves but far enough to avoid any sand. The seating is casual andcomfortable. The food is overall good. We got two salads and a shrimp roll in all. The tuna salad was great and comes witheither chips or naan (was very filling), and the corn salad was similarly tasty and filling. The rolls are cold just as anFYI! All in all, great place. I will be back! Read more
This is a beautiful location, a lovely beach terraced spot that is taken care of well. It?s so great to sit on the beach and... have a drink, it?s evocative of the beginning of a vacation. But we spent $80.00 on two drinks in plastic cups, a crab sandwichwith a freezing cold bun which was just ?OK?, and small container of ceviche. All in paper containers. Nachos that were onlychips with crumbles of chicken and parsley. This place needs to up their food game by a lot. It felt like we got robbed, foodvs value. You are paying for the experience but it?s a shame?.put some butter on that bun and stick it under the broiler for aminute! Put something more on the nachos. It?s self serve too and they ask you to put money in the tip jar. It?s always a bitof a rude feeling there like you are bothering them, not following their many rules or some weird thing is said to you such as?hurry they want to close the kitchen? - never ?thank you for coming? They seem to be doing you a favor to let you be there, isthe impression always. Reverb to customer service 101. I just always feel sort of taken for granted. Read more

I like The Waterfront Cafe. It is an amazing place to eat in the Edgewater community in Chicago, Illinois. The dining experience... is electric, crimson, and astonishing. I enjoyed the $26.00 "Lobster Roll with kettle chips." Also, I had two beverages,non-alcoholic. The beverages were "Diet Coke and Dasani water; they both were consumed smoothly, easily, and neatly. I love therepresentation of the island vacationed theme dining experience, encounter, and scenery. Read more
The food is pricey, but delicious and worth the view. Would definitely come again.
A hidden gem! I felt like I was in Europe! A beautiful and calm spot on the Northside of Chicago. You are paying city prices... for cocktails, but the view is magnificent. Know before you go: No reservations, first come first serve. As of September 2021you can order drinks to your table with a QR code, but food is ordered inside (and prepare to wait a bit). There is a charge forwater. The only table service is food/beverage delivery. Pets are welcome. Limited options for people on restrictive diets (butcheck online - I imagine the menu changes every season and we were there towards the end, so I think we viewed an abbreviatedmenu). It is located next to a park, so very family friendly. Parking: street (metered in some places and free in others. Payattention to parking restrictions). Read more
