Classic Chicago restaurant ????. Has everything you could possibly want for a nice dinner. Still a bit pricey but it's worth ... it. Portions are large so you get your monies worth. I always like the parm and the linguine with seafood really good. My go toappetizer is always mussels in white wine. Read more

Great atmosphere. Friendly & attentive staff. Amazing cocktails, and at nearly $20 a drink- they need to be good! Tasty food at... Gold Coast prices. I was a bit disappointed by the underwhelming bread basket. Read more

The pork chop lollipops are fantastic. Be sure to keep the sauce to dip your bread in. Square noodles with meatballs were also... very good. Didn't love the tiramisu, it was a little bit dry but a great place regardless. I would definitely go back. Read more

It pains me to give only 3 stars but here I go. This is a prime people watching spot and I love it. The outdoor tables are... well spaced and you do not feed cramped. The space is clean and well-kept. The reception staff are friendly and attentive. The wait staff is superficially friendly and it kinda falls off the radar after that. I was early for a dinner date and wantedto enjoy the time outside with a cocktail. The server was annoyed and didn’t hide it. However, my friend loved the table sowe dined at that table. It took about 15 (yes, that’s right) to get bread and he kept blaming the “young” help but I’mwondering why he kept noticing that but never delivered the bread himself. The level of detachment was annoying. That beingsaid, the lasagna was delicious. Cooked throughout and piping hot. A wonderful balance of cheese, meat and noodle but couldhave used a little more sauce on the plate. The tiramisu was very good. The taste of espresso didn’t overpower any othertaste. All-in-all, a nice experience and a good way to enjoy summer in the city. Read more

First time visiting while attending a business meeting. My wife and I had the meatball, Italian sausage and lb and it was... great! The bread was hot and fresh as well. Coming from Houston, it was great to be able to eat dinner outside! Read more

The atmosphere was very nice and inviting. However, that is probably the only positive I can give to this restaurant. The staff... was friendly, but distracted with everything that was going on. We did not get our bread and olive oil, even after asking later. The table was wobbly, and that caused our drink to spill. For the price of the food, the taste did not match expectations. Thatalso applies to the portion sizes. The cheese ravioli was four pieces of ravioli, and it tasted OK. We had three differentwaiters attend to our needs, which seems like a management issue. Delicious food. I had no reservation at 6pm and I was able to eat at the bar. It is very expensive, ~34$ for a small plate of... pasta (with extra to get 1 meat ball). I also got a 3% surcharge that I did not quite understand. so total of 43$. Lots oftables available inside and outside. Nice place, looks pretty and classy with a nice ambiance. Read more

We had a great experience at this restaurant. We have visited this place after going to 3 other restaurants on our quest of... traditional Chicago food experience. The waiter at Carmine’s was very nice, super friendly, and attentive. Had some good senseof humor as well. The restaurant itself is quite dark and loud, but the atmosphere is inviting and might even be consideredsomewhat romantic. The ladies in the front weren’t very nice, but it didn’t worsen our experience. We tried some oysters inthis location, and it was one of the first times for us. We got hooked after that, though, and now we try them in every singlerestaurant. Read more
