Ordered takeout and loved it. The prices are reasonable for really high quality sandwiches. Husband enjoyed his turkey sandwich... on a pretzel roll (very fresh avocado and turkey, and delicious bread) and I had the reuben, which was outstanding. Perfectratio of (very well made) corned beef to cheese and dressing, with a pile of heavenly (homemade, I assume) kraut, which could beits own food group. The marble rye was tender and flavorful, and (drum roll) it wasn't at all greasy. Highly recommend, and willeat in at some point, and will definitely order again. Really sad they ran out of soup. But they definitely made up for it with the sandwiches. Super delicious and reasonably priced.... They definitely stack up the meat in the sandwiches. Customer service is really good as well. Read more
OMG! This is by far the best thing we?ve eaten in Chicago. We ordered the Buffalo Sandwich, BLT, and Seasame seed fries. Let me... tell you the sauce on the Buffalo and fries!!!! Heavenly????????????????!Go here please! We spent 34$ and they also have 10$tequila and homemade juice. I got the tequila with pomegranate hibiscus juice. 10/10 or 5/5 however you want to put it. I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon. Happened to be in the neighborhood and it had good Google reviews. Don?t let the basic... nature of this quaint sandwich shop fool you. My husband and I ordered the Reuben sandwich to share. It was phenomenal! Morethan enough for the both of us! The corned beef was sliced thick, which worried me at first, but it was so tender! The marbledrye and gourmet coleslaw were tasty, and there was melted gooey cheese throughout. Some of the cheesy meat fell out, but it madefor nice finger food (I?d get flatware next time). Even as we were eating the last few bites, the meat and cheese were hot. Atthe time we were there (24AUG21) it was outdoor dining only, and there were only four tables. I would highly recommend The Fat Shallot for one of your events. I had them at a corporate event during the summer. Sarah was... very accommodating leading up to my event and even the day of when I was making additional changes! They were able to pivot andadapt to the last minute additions and requests. The staff was very professional and set up and took down their equipment/truckseamlessly. Sam did such a great job prepping and serving our guests. Everyone loved the food.
