Packed place even on a Tuesday. Waiters were annoyed that we were standing in the way but there?s only so much you can do when... the place is packed. Would?ve appreciated better attitudes. We went somewhere else after one round. Read more

As a regular bar goer, this bar is a terrible establishment that assaults their customers and pays off cops. I would never... recommend this bar to any Chicago resident especially people of color. Head my warning. This bar assaulted 3 women withwitnesses on hand, and multiple people saw them pay off the cops to stay quiet. There is video evidence of the entire debacleand there was nothing done by the people we trust to serve justice. Read more

I went out of my way to write this review because of how much of a joke this place is. My two girlfriends and I tried to come... here on a Saturday night out in the city. The place wasn?t even close to full but we were turned away because ?there was a dresscode? and apparently we were not following it. Based on the patrons in front of us and behind us in line, there was very clearlyno dress code which I further verified after reading their website this morning. We were dressed for going out but apparently wewere too ugly for these bouncers *insert eye roll here*. It is such bad business to turn away paying customers for superficialreasons like appearance, especially when there was clearly no dress code. Do not even waste your time trying to come here. I?ve been here a couple times since they stay open late. But they are racist. I experienced it recently. I was told they were... done for the night. I saw 4 white girls approach the door seconds after me. Security immediately checked their IDs. I asked ?whyare you checking their IDs if you?re done?? He said ?idk why.? The white women were then let in. I addressed with security andthey lied to my face as If I didn?t just watch it happen. They need to gone head and shut this place down. Read more

This is a review for one of the bouncers, Ben. He deserves a raise/promotion! I witnessed a very scary situation when, visiting... the Boss Bar a little after 10:00pm on Thursday, June 2nd 2022 with my mom for a nightcap before heading back to my hotel andBen handled it so perfectly! We were sitting outside enjoying drinks when a man (late 50s) and his wife stood up from a tablenear us to leave and a handgun fell out of the man's pocket. Thankfully it did not disarm, but if it had, it was pointeddirectly at my right ankle!!! Both he and his wife were very flustered and the man attempted to play it off like nothinghappened, put it back in his pants, and scurried away. One of the bouncers (Ben) ran after the man and his wife and spent quitea long time around the corner where I couldn't see what was going on. Ben eventually came back and when he did, I thanked himfor acting so quickly and bravely by following the man and his wife around the corner. The man had a gun, the bouncer wasunarmed, and had NO idea how the man would have reacted to Ben confronting him. Ben told me the man did have papers to carry, but that carrying within 300 feet of an institution that serves alcohol in Chicago is illegal and Ben got the man's informationand permit number (he kept in confidential of course and did not disclose anything to me) and reported the man for theincident. Given the times we are in, irresponsible gun ownership is truly unforgivable in my opinion and I appreciate Ben'sbravery in chasing the man down. Thank you , Ben, and thank you, Boss Bar, for hiring bouncers that are there to empowered todo more than just check IDs. Read more
