Great pub ???? This family owned / midsize restaurant/ bar has a great vibe. Traditional pub fare with inspirations, the... service was extraordinary. Prices are fair, & a bit of old world charm, exists in this gem. Bar service, tables, or aseparate back room for meetings or live music. This is not a "hipster" joynt - More of a "Cheers" vibe. My husband & I love this bar. All of the bar tenders & staff are super friendly, competent & efficient. The food is really good... & prices are reasonable. The servings are so big that always end up with meals for next day. They have a relatively recent, butexperienced cook who has really improved the food in the last year, although it was always pretty good. They have specials allthe time. They make typical bar food, but it's delicious. My favorite are the Irish Nachos. I don't often crave food from a bar,but I often do now. They usually have live music on weekends with great acts & have a back area for comfortable sitting duringacts, or hosting parties. We go here almost every weekend. We both ordered the Fish & Chips with an extra filet for $3.00. They come with fries, tots or waffle fries, and they give you... plenty. The fillets were cooked just right, tender and filling. I ordered iced tea but they only had it in cans which were toosweet and weak. They only had high top tables and chairs, I prefer a regular table. After a chaotic arrival in Chicago the owner of the pub took us with his kindness and helped us to solve our problems. Not to... mention the delicious lunch accompanied by fantastic beers, which in the end was even fully offered!! Fantastic person,beautiful place. We recommend it with the heart to everyone. Read more
Love this place! Its a super cool neighborhood bar that kinda feels like Ireland upon entry. The bar keepers are sweet and down... to earth individuals who are always very happy to not only serve, but converse with you in human way. I always feel bad when Iwalk by and its empty it is such a gem. And HUGE. There is a whole room for booking events, parties,weddings! Stopped in for a quick Guinness at the end of the day and was pleasantly surprised by everything here. The service was fantastic... and super personable. Even when we came back the second time and they were swamped, they took care of us very quickly and stillapologized for being slow (we didn't think they were). The Shepard's pie was amazing and the portion was HUGE. The dips werealso amazing. Irish nachos were just like the ones at U of I.
