Amazing place. I came to Chigago on a Train trip from WA state to NY to meet my lover of 2 and a half years after being online... for so long. I stopped here to fill myself up after a 3 day non stop trip. I got the Prime Rib Salad, and it was amazing. Ipromised I would come back again. I found this resteraunt by looking up "Black Owned Business" and felt like doing my partinstead of spending my money on corporations. I couldn't Dine In, but I ate on the curb next to the road. It was so amazing. Itwas beyond delicious, cooked perfectly. The people I talked to while waiting for my food were so kind. I don't even care thatthey thought I was a female and kept calling me beautiful and the likes (I'm trans) I was just so happy to be somewhere and tobe free at 18 for the first time. Read more

The interior decoration is probably the pinnacle of Taste 222. The staff were nice, accepted the cake we had to be brought to... the table uncut - although this is apparently contrary to their policy. The catfish was mediocre, the steak was much better(recommended). Lamb loin was delicious and the Brussels sprout appetizer very tasty. The communication with the server wasn’tvery easy but didn’t cause any severe problem. It’s nice that they have a coat closet. Comparing the quality, size and priceof the food I can’t convince myself to give them a 5/5; they were good at best! Read more

The Creole Shrimp is Amazing. This is one of the few upscale minority owned restaurants that I’ve encountered. The staff is... extremely friendly and prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food. I will absolutely be back again. Read more

Went here for dinner in the summertime. Taste 222 is an elegantly intimate place to stop in for a drink, appetizer or meal with... friends or business associates. It's also a nice place to stop in after work and have a drink with colleagues or an intimatedinner with your loved one. Taste 222 consists of a Large room with a high ceiling, there are 4 tables with seating for fourpeople. There are 8 single seats in front of the kitchen, as well as seating at the long bar. For people looking for just adrink or an appetizer there is also couch seating in the corner. We started off with a charcuterie which is smoked salmon, prosciutto, finocchiona, and a chef's selection of cheeses . It was a great start to a wonderful dinner. We tried the searedlamb chops, which were very tasteful, and I wanted more. The Creole shrimp is more of a meal with seared Cajun shrimp, jalapeno goat cheese cornbread and a delicious Opelousas sauce. By far the best dish I had was the dessert, the three layerschocolate caramel cake from Brown Sugar Bakery was huge, delicious, and enough for 4 people to share. Although the decor isupscale the waitress was very casually dressed, which I did not understand, maybe because it was a weeknight With a menu thatcharacterizes their dinners as small plates, just be aware that they are just that, small plates. Portions are small but beadventurous and order several to share. Read more
