This is my favorite taco place in Chicago. My grandmother was Mexican and this place makes beans that rival hers. Everything is... fresh, the owners are fantastic and always checking things and really working, and the place is so fast and well run. Not muchof an ambiance but I don't really care. I've been coming to this place for at least 15 years and when the dad owned it, the food was amazing. Batgirl took over from her... father and it was running all right, but in the last year, I have to tell you, the customer service...well, there is none.Instead it's replaced with attitude. I know times are tough, and only accepting cash and not having to pay credit card fees byaccepting credit cards should put more money in their account, so I think it's fair to say you can spare giving out more salsawhen a customer asks for it. I ordered 9 tacos and a large chips and red salsa. In my bag were 2 little green salsas and mylarge red salsa. When I asked the woman for red salsa, she said, "You have a large red salsa in the bag!" Yeah that I paid forto eat with my chips!! How does she know we want to share it with the tacos? Come on!! $15 for a bland burrito and $4 for a tacoand you can't spare salsa? That's the least they could do. They need to lose the attitude and clean the place up, starting withthe staff. They lost me as a customer! I make better tacos at home when I'm not being lazy! Steak burrito was honestly one of the best I've ever had. Chips and salsa are also solid. I found the chicken in a chicken taco... to be tasteless.-early 2019 Update...this place has been my fav for years. Recently the burrito size has shrunk and the chipsare a whole different recipe and way worse( like out of a bag almost, but could have been a fluke).
