Sunny Side ?Eh? CHICAGO- When you go to an establishment for a fulfilling breakfast, brunch, or lunch, you?d expect to have a... breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Friday, November 16, 2018 I visited the establishment adjacent to Aston Martin and Dave & Buster?sat 1028 N. Clark st. and Maple. I had a swell time there but first I was joined by prior customers swearing loudly and seatedbehind them at a window table. The host that greeted me, greeted me with a smile and she sat me a said table. Now, I didn?torder much, just a rib eye Steak sandwich on toasted sourdough bread. However, due to my lactose intolerance, I ordered mysandwich without the blue cheese, medium, with fries. Surprisingly, my food came to me in a short amount of time. The first timeit came out it was primed with blue cheese. That was a setback for me and I was a bit worried about the second one coming to mytable. The waiter did come out to apologize and to that I did leave a tip upon the completion of my Friday brunch. From thesaddening situation, the letdown of my day it was contrariwise, transposed, and inverted. The steak. Let?s address the steak. The steak, medium, is assumed to be succulent, tender, moist, and juicy. Just an all around damn good steak. Especially, that ofa rib eye. Now, I?ve definitely have devoured some pleasant steaks from Hell?s Kitchen restaurant in Las Vegas, NV, MichaelJordan?s Steakhouse in Chicago, IL, and the Savoy Grill Restaurant. The steak I received was NOT up to par with the steaks ofthe past. This was not a meal suitable for Gordon Ramsay, the chef himself. The steak came to me, well-presented, on a platterwith fries and ketchup; the rib eye was filled with so much grease it stroked my tongue in a manner that wasn?t pleasant. Agrease-filled steak saturated the sourdough bread and dripped all the way through to the plate and completely saturated thefries. It felt like I was eating the heart attack burger in Las Vegas. One thing that was pleasant, it was a m Read more

Great place, very nice staff and the food was delicious. And it wasn't as hard to park as I expected for this area

REVISED: The menu has improved since my first review - many more options. That said, I based my initial review on breakfast... dishes, but I've discovered the best thing here is the lunch combo with a half sandwich and salad (or soup). Great price, greatsalad options, generous portions for lunch. Staff seems to be regular now as I've seen the same nice people there for awhile, but service remains a little slow. It's hard to say, but it's potentially the kitchen as a few times hot dishes were not hot, though delivered promptly. Compared to similar places in the neighborhood, it's mediocre. Food is good, but pricey for smallportions and nothing particularly special on the menu. Service is slow even when the place is never busy. I haven't been to theother location in River North, but it seems like this location is trying to be more upscale, so it's not a welcoming place. There's plenty of "upscale" around here - most people in the neighborhood skip those places and leave them for the tourists andsuburbanites. For breakfast or lunch, there are better options in the price range, even here in the Gold Coast. Read more

The wait was absolutely horrendous. The service was nonexistent. I had to ask too many times for water, coffee, and remind them... that I was trying to pay so I could leave. The food was good when I finally got it, but too many other options available to goback to that type of service. If you go, have a snack beforehand so you?re not starving by the time your food comes.
