Was not impressed with the Falafel or chicken. Very average and not authentic Egyptian middle eastern taste or flavors. True... falafel is not made with chick pease but with split fava beans. Not some place I would go a second time. Read more

So good! My wife and I loved it. We got 2 lamb shawerma sandwiches. Excellent! We also got the rice and lentils as a side dish... and it was also very good. We ordered the large and we couldn't finish it. This is a small, little (yeah, I know, it'sredundant) place we stumbled upon. What a great find. There is seating for about 8 people total. Read more

The food here is great. Large portions and very good. One of my favorites for this style of food in the Chicago area. Been going... here since this location opened 15 years or so ago. Usually once a week but the last year only once every few months and there'sa reason for that. The sultan tax( as me and my CO workers have been calling it). Every other Restaraunt in this area charges11.75% but sultans charges more for some odd reason. We've speculated they're trying to accommodate their new credit card onlypolicy...or trying to pay for their proposed new location in pilsen. Either way, I've brought it to their managers attentionevery time I've been charged the sultan tax to no avail. And they've been doing this for about a year now. I'm thinking eversince they upgraded their menu board and cash machines. In the beginning of the sultan tax I noticed you can order onlineinstead and get it for the regular rate. Now, they updated that as well and it's in the wide open how they're overcharging righton their own ritual online system. $15 dinner at 11.75% is like$1.70 or so in tax. Not $1.99 as charged. This shows on thereceipt as Restaraunt and Pier tax. Well, 2521 n Clark is not navy pier so guess what? You've been gouging people for over ayear. Time to FIX IT(that's my hopes with this Google post... and I rarely ever post Google reviews. Always use my personalFacebook to review instead). So if you like the food like I do then just be aware that you'll have to pay the sultan tax to eathere. Unless, the Chicago department of finance gets there first. Read more

Sultan's Market is my go-to, quick Mediterranean food restaurant in the city. The food is delicious and the price is very... reasonable for the amount of food you get. I've only ordered take out so I am not sure what it would be like to eat inside. Ilove their meat combo dinner, and I always compliment it with some lentil soup as well. Hits the spot everytime! Affordable sandwiches, baked pies, plates and salad bar for dine-in, take out or delivery. I love the falafel sandwich with feta... added and extra spicy! A nice assortment of canned and bottled drinks to choose from and baklava or Turkish Delight for dessert. You can eat well for $6-10. Read more
