Giving 3 stars only because there are some really great employees there like Raven, and the two young ones who most times make... my drink . Lately the manager with the shaved haircut has been making drinks. She is rude if you ask a question and snappy alongwith nasty drinks. Now I just skip coffee if I see her making drinks as it?s slapped together and she doesn?t care. It?s tooearly in the morning to be rude and receive nasty coffee. I have been to a few Starbucks, but this particular location stands above the rest. I was staying across the Street at the... Palmer House but needed an earlier opening than the Starbucks located in the hotel. Was glad to see this location across thestreet on State/Adams opened at 5:30 am. I ordered Oatmeal, a protein box and a Cold Brew. From day one I was met by a brightsmiling (you could see it in her eyes) Gennie. She is more the reason I returned daily to this location. She is prompt,cheerful. and always ready to go above and beyond to be one of the most helpful people I have ever met at a Starbucks location.Although I was visiting a city for vacation and work I found her to be the brightness that started my day off right. Starbucksand the world needs more people like her. I will give kudos to the location and the other employees who were quick and cheerful,but most of my return business was because of Gennie who welcomed me into the business and called me by name after the firstvisit! I have been to a lot of Starbucks, but this particular location stands above the rest. Gennie (spelling?) is an absolute jewel... of an asset to the the company. She is prompt, cheerful. and always ready to go above and beyond to be one of the most helpfullpeople I have ever met at a Starbucks location. I will go out of my way just for the personal service and wonderful attitude shehas as it help start my day off right. A+++++++++ The world needs more people like her. Read more

I have very low expectations for Starbucks in the Loop. They are usually understaffed and rude to non-regulars. But my... experience this morning prompted me to write a review. The barista at the register was the kindest and most positive personever. She even expertly removed a person from the store who was causing issues for other customers without it escalating intosomething dangerous. Give this woman a raise. She should be training your team on a national scale. She made everyonesmile...at 7am in the City! Read more
