So I made my way over here on this bitterly cold December day. And sheesh , are you kidding me? Such great libations and... ambience. It?s like, the best garage party ever. I mean that in a good way. Do you know me? Ok you probably do not. But, forthose from my neck of the way, that is high praise. Sometimes the most sublime thing is also the most comfortable. Where am Igoing with this, you ask? Came up here on a whim on what ended up being a perfect Sunday summer afternoon - my partner and I wanted to check out Spiteful... and Half Acre. After having one round in the beer garden at Half Acre, we came 'round and thought we'd plop down with the pup inSpiteful's gorgeous front patio ? until we realized they were dog-friendly inside as well! Got a beer flight and just chilled...met some awesome dogs (and their cool people) and I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere - kept saying how I felt like wewere on vacation in Chicago. Or maybe it was more like Chicago was on vacation? Garage doors were up, fresh plants framed theview out front, and the vibe was truly laid back. Service was perfect. Dog friendly patio as well as inside. Patio is covered and has heat lamps. Local craft brew with a wide variety of styles and... seasonal favorites. Hidden gem with the locals. Come check them out and maybe take some of their barrel aged darker beers home.They offer snacks like chips and bratwurst from friday-sunday. Outside food is welcome. Spiteful can always be counted on to have a great new and unique beer every time you come. The space isn?t huge but it doesn?t... feel cramped at all. It?s dog friendly and they have darts and board games available. I didn?t realize how great free pretzelsare with beer but that?s another added plus to this location. The growler cost is very fair and overall this is a great localbrewery that?s producing a lot of great product offerings. Read more
One of the cooler breweries on the Northside. Plenty of range in flavors, ABV, and beer size, at a reasonable cost. Comfortable... part of the neighborhood setting, with big roll up doors. Kudos for pairing with local cheese and meat companies for bar snacks. Read more
I really like the Spiteful taproom. We visited on a Saturday evening around 6pm and it wasn?t extremely crowded. We sat quickly... by the bar and were able to grab a few seats. About 15-20 people came in before we were almost done, which made the place a lotlouder but I didn?t mind. If you are looking for somewhere that is kid and dog friendly, this is a great place to go.
