Stopped in over Thanksgiving and had a fantastic time. The shrimp appetizer was phenomenal and my wife's margarita pronounced... the best she'd had in years (...and she's had a few...). The Chicken Aztec soup was not only delicious but could have fed 4people. Our server Darlene was an absolute diamond. Read more

We came here for happy hour, otherwise might not have been worth it. Even then, the street tacos are not worth it (barely full).... But the tocos locos are a great value! Drinks were also a good value at happy hour... Would come back but only during happyhour. Bathrooms were a bit smelly due to whatever cleaner they use, and are located in the basement (FYI). This place is phenomenal !! From the moment you walk in, you will experience such a fun vibe. We went on a Thursday night and... the place was buzzing. Strongly recommend making reservations. The food at Solita is absolutely amazing. Latin food done right.Everything we ordered was delicious and bursting with flavors. They start you off with a baskets of nachos and pinwheels.Ugly sauce accompanies it. That sauce is actually fire, we went through two baskets of the chips, it’s so addicting. We triedthe ceviche tropical which was so refreshing. Loved the presentation and the citrus flavors woke up my taste buds. Next we hadthe tacos and the wood grilled fish fajitas. I cannot rave enough about the fish!!! Omg the spices and the flavors were a 10/10!I could eat that every day. The tacos were delicious as well. Let’s not forget the sides, the rice and beans are reallytasty. We ended the evening with fried Icecream and that was the finale of our dinner. Perfect dessert to sum up a perfectdinner. They have a great selection of cocktails and mocktails as well. The margs are a must must try. The watermelon and spicypina were fire!! Check out Solitas! Sally and her staff are AMAZING!! Read more

Stopped by on the weekend during brunch and what a fantastic lively atmosphere! Upon walking in our party of 6 was greeted with... welcoming smiles. Nate was our server and he was very knowledgeable on the menu and offered suggestions since it was our firsttime. Nate was also received very tentative, as he was filling waters, chips, drinks and salsa before we even recognized. Alltogether great staff, food and vibe. Will be back in the near future! Read more

I was looking for a decent Mexican restaurant downtown and just happened to run across this one, almost by accident. A couple... comments concerned me but a majority were positive so I decided to try it out. It started off rough with a 90 min commute due tounexpected weather and a horrible traffic jam on the expressway. While in traffic I called to let Solito's know we were runninglate. I spoke with Sally, who was very appreciative for letting her know.  She moved our reservation time 15-30 mins. I alsoasked if it was possible to get a semi private area as we were accommodating friends from out of town who were visiting Chicagofor the first time. Sally told me not to worry about it,  that she has a perfect spot for us. When we arrived we were seated ina gorgeous and spacious U shaped booth. Turns out Sally is the General Manager and I have to say Sally and her staff wereincredibly nice and so attentive to us from start to  finish. The service and everything from the salsa's and chips to the potof coffee brewed fresh for us at the end was perfect. The food? It is legit Mexican. I'd say 9/10 for authentic flavors,  onlya home cooked real Mexican meal is going to score close to a perfect 10. The chips were warm and had a fresh corn flavor. TheSalsa's had a nice variety of chili flavors with levels of mild to serious heat. We did ask for the extra hot stuff. All of themwere delicious. The Ceviche Tropicale was so refreshing and had the perfect amount of lime, salt and cilantro. The ChickenTaquaitos and Queso Al Forno had us borderline full before our main meals. The variety of tacos,  enchiladas and the CarneAsada were all exceptional. For dessert we managed to have some churros,  brownies, deep fried ice-cream and the bread pudding. We needed coffee just to get to the car. If you don't mind that food coma feeling and love being catered to I highly recommendmy new friend Sally and her staff at Solito's. See you again soon. Read more

Once again, Chicago, one business and going on one of my many walks, I pass by then turned around and stopped in. It is a newer... hipster like Mexican inspired restaurant. I was able to be seated right away near the window at a high top table. My drinks cameout fairly quickly. I had a Mezcal cocktail, the corn elote with the pork ribs. The combination of the sweet corn and the porkribs was pretty incredible. I’ve never had ribs at a Mexican restaurant before but I sure hope to do it again. The manager hadcome over a few times to chat as I was in California and she was telling me about the restaurants are opening in my state. Iappreciated the attention, the quality of food and the swiftness of the service. Though it is a chain it is very innovative, andI look forward to one opening in my city soon. Read more
