I consider myself a good judge of character and taste but honestly I walked into this place just expecting to eat food and move... on but I got much more than I anticipated. First it felt very welcoming and just great set-up and then the menu was simple andto the point. I highly suggest the jumbo fried shrimp, the fried scallops, the fried mushrooms, the cole slaw, the potato saladwhich all ranked at the very top in its class. Im a restaurant operator myself and I envied how simple but outstanding thisplace turned out to be. I met the owner which was the icing on the cake. I love this place, that I lovingly call Snappy's Shrimp Shack! The wraps are delish (haven't had a sandwich yet), fresh fish and... shrimp fried to perfection and delicious chicken too. And their special hot sauce is *chef's kiss*. Grab some fries and clamstrips for a quick, cheap snack. Highly recommend. Read more
Snappy?s Shrimp is the Far Northside equivalent of Lawrence?s Fisheries or Goose Island, which is not my taste?.with the same... price tag. It?s a neighborhood location so it?s perfect for those that live nearby. I was in the area so thought I?d give them atry. Nothing negative to say. They had everything I ordered (1 lb of jumbo shrimp, clam strips, fries & coleslaw). Everything is?a la carte?, no dinners. I can just chalk it up to ?I?ve tried them!? Very welcoming staff. Super friendly atmosphere. The food was spectacular. Great family owned and operated spot to grab a bite.... We had a BBQ Chicken sandwich, Hush Puppies, Catfish, and Fried Shrimp. Everything was delicious. Will definitely go back again. Read more
I ordered a 1/4 lb shrimp combo here. I can?t say if something was wrong with the food in particular, however it could be much... better in terms of the portion, the size of jumbo shrimp and the way they should be fried. The location is good, prices are alittle high. Also they got cheap drinks in the fridge and as you can see in the photo, there is not anything from Coke or Pepsifamily. Read more
Love their catfish strips and fries! Boiled shrimp wrap is also highly recommended. Yo can?t beat Snappy?s.
Well if you like shrimp with your breading this is the place and be sure to bring your own napkins if you plan on eating there I... asked the guy for more napkins at a table of three and he probably handed me 5 small napkins. The fries where bangin thoughperfectly cooked and the hushpuppies too probably won't be back for the small over battered shrimp though. Read more
