Great neighborhood bar that hopefully never goes away. And the curds here were perfect
What a perfect grand finale to a perfect day! We came to this hidden gem of a neighborhood bar to wind down with some drinks... and great food. Three years ago, at Navy Pier, we found a knit cap with the words SMALL BAR on it. We took it home, washed it,and we planned for our next trip to Chicago that we would check it out It was PERFECT! From the moment we walked in, then thecustomer service and the amazing food, and the extensive beer list, and the great vibe. This neighborhood spot did notdisappoint! I can?t get over their elote Mac and cheese. The queso cotija and the flaming hot Cheetos really worked together to make this... would-be Mexican-Italian-American monstrosity into a work of art. The burger patty was cooked into perfection (medium rare),recommend to add bbq sauce on the side. They really know their beers too - I left to use the facilities and they had run out ofwhat I ordered. But they brought out a substitute that was a better match to my tastes (slight banana) than what I had ordered! Read more
Shoutout to Small Bar for their brunch offerings. It?s a nice neighborhood spot to go for a no frills brunch with plenty of... drink options and large food portions. Their patio is nice because it?s very shaded but you still get to be outside. Overall,I most appreciate that it is tucked away in the neighborhood and they have lots of drink options! Read more
Small bar is a decent little place in quite a random spot. From the outside it looks a little uninviting but once in the drinks... and food are decent. I?ve been a few times, the most recent time they were playing pretty awful music and it was a littleuncomfortably loud so it didn?t make you feel like you wanted to order another. Read more
