Personal review, I really wanted to love or at least like Ramen Takeya, unfortunately the food was not even close to the reviews... at all. Many dishes were not available (like tuna tartare, hamachi, fried calamary, ebi, etc). Strating with Chicken Karagewastasteless and bland, Big Eye Tuna Pokee Bowl was average, Octopus was extremely funky one bite was enough to sent back. BothRamen Bowls were so dense, the broth was super thick and overwhelming in flavor and not in a good way, a few bites were enoughto be turn-off. Both dishes tasted the same Miso Bold & Spicy & Tokyo Classic Shoyu. The only two tasty dishes were the miniBBQ Ell domburi as well as the Seaweed Salad. Read more

Ramen shop located in west loop serving ramen, bao buns, and even sushi! First time trying Ramen Takeya and I was pleasantly... surprised at one how well decorated the place was and two how tasty the food was!! Ordered a few different things each was 5stars: Chicken bao buns had awesome flavor with the perfect sweet and savory combo Ramen was spicy enough for a kick but notoverpowering Poke bowl was a huge serving that had the right about of fish to rice The Brussel sprouts had the perfect taste tothem! Will be back to Ramen Takeya! Read more

This place is great. Lovely outdoor seating that was comfortable. We had such tasty food. We started with the pork belly bao... buns. It was super flavorful. Although, I prefer pork belly with some crisp. We then had the spicy chicken ramen and after ourlovely waitress recommended it, the miso. She was right, the miso was so good. So was the spicy chicken though. Our waitress wasgreat. Kind, quick and lovely. The other staff we interacted with were also attentive and quick. Support this amazing spot andeat here often. This ramen place is comfy and the service is fantastic! Everyone is welcoming and attentive, my group never waited more than a... few seconds when asking additional things. The food was delicious as well, the chicken karaage had a delcious spicy mayo and theOsaka shio ramen was tasty, although I would have enjoyed a crispier char siu. Read more

I?ve been a long time Ramen Takeya customer (well over 7 years) and it has never been less than perfect. I wish I could give 6... stars! The Miso Bold & Spicy is my go-to and has the perfect blend of spicy and creamy broth, melt-in-your-mouth noodles, silkytamago egg, and balanced toppings. I?d eat this every day if I could! Also recommend the Brussels sprouts and basicallyeverything else on the menu - can?t go wrong!!! Read more

Stopped by one of my favorite ramen restaurants in Chicago - Ramen Takeya. The spicy chicken paitan ramen had a good kick, melt... in the mouth charred char siew, crunchy bamboo shoots and slurpworthy ramen. Pity their fryer was busted today, and I wasn?table to get their karaage. Next time! Read more

The hype for this place is too much.. I guess 5 years ago when I tried it first time it was worth it.. but not anymore.. We got... the staple starters Chicken Karaage and Crispy Takoyaki chicken plus Osaka Shiro and Misso bold and spicy ramen.. ChickenKaraage was not even crispy and color does not look appealing. The Takoyaki well it was decent with the souce but I had betterones. Ramen was great though the broth was very rich .. Overall.. good experience but not worth the hype. Read more

Really good ramen, excellent appetizers. I recommend the pork bun. They made a mistake with giving us our order but they fixed... it quickly so everything was fine. Definitely better than most of the other ramen shops in the area. Read more
