The worst potbelly?s! I too placed a catering order for 12pm and still no sign of the food 40 mins later!! This was for a... potential business contact? I bought skinny italian sandwich and a cup of chilly from this location for lunch. First and foremost the soup had a piece of... plastic inside. The soup was hot, so I assume the plastic could very well have melted, at least deformed. Secondly, the staffthere gave me a very condescending attitude while I was trying to order. Admittedly my pronounciation isnt perfect, but at asandwich shop that sells chilly soup, pretending not to understand "a cup of chilly" then handing me over to another staff totalk about my pronounciation with another coworker? I don't even know if condescending is a right word here. I will bereporting this case to the city of chicago department of health. I do not recommend this location to any self-appreciatinghuman. I've never had a bad sandwich from Potbelly Sandwich Works. I love a good, warm sub sandwich and this location is great. Besides... the food (which is always tasty), the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. Nice spacious location; I love that it's on my wayhome so I'm able to grab dinner to take home when I'm too tired to cook. Read more
Staff was dismissive and rude, hung up on me when I was calling to speak about a pick up order that they had messed up on. They... insisted they did not and hung up on me without a resolution. Order was also delayed but the staff was nice about it during thepick up. It was after I realized that the food was missing items they became irate and dismissive. Didn?t offer any solutionseven though I tried to suggest they just make me a new sandwich. Read more
I placed a catering order to pick up at 10:30 and my order was pushed to 11am and while I am physically waiting for my order and... being understanding of the rush that is occurring, the manager or it appeared to be someone in charge, older women with glasseswas speaking negatively of the order and myself. ?They are petty? I?m not ringing them up? they can wait? First of all, you areabsolutely entitled to your thoughts but you choose to work at a FAST PACE environment and although there is a rush, you shouldat minimum respect the customer. Literally poor experience and I WILL NOT ever be catering with Potbelly's again. Retrain thestaff manners and behaviors. If they can?t handle stress while being professional they may not be a right fit. Read more
I did an online order and showed up before the time it was supposed to be ready. The three people behind the counter did a great... job making sure they communicated with people waiting for online orders??two more minutes on your sandwich, Ben? etc. They alsowere working so fast to keep up with the crazy number of lunch orders, and they balanced working on in-person and online ordersreally well.
