10/10 from experience to food. This small Italian restaurant is perfect for a Chicago winter evening. Make sure to order the... pasta starter which gives you a taste of about 5 different pastas. It’s fun to do with a group or partner and compare whichone everyone likes the most. It’s a great idea, so you can try more than 1 pasta and not feel grossly full. Pelago is quiet, small, and classy. I love it! P.S. their starter bread and butter is addicting (see image). Read more

Excellent restaurant. Food was great, service was excellent. You'll pay a little more but it's worth it.

The food was just as good as any other fine dining restaurant you could go to. I was really disappointed at the lack of variety... in the menu. There was just one steak option, which was a cut up sirloin!!!! Why would an upscale restaurant serve this cut ofsteak... And to add insult to injury, there were no other steak options... Aside from the sirloin, they only had veal. The menuwas just very basic and unimpressive. The food was something I could have made at home. Essentially, my husband and I paid $310for a grilled salmon dinner and chicken stuffed with sausage, 2 appetizers, and 2 cocktails which were literally just ok. I wishwe had just gone to Bavette's and gotten a really good steak. But hey you live and you learn. The upside is that parking wasfree because the restaurant is private property, (so we were told) service is really great and the ambiance is quiet andintimate. Read more

Food was amazing. I had two appetizers that tasted perfect. The white truffle pasta was also amazing. Main dish was a rack of... lamb for two. Although the food and ambiance was great, the servers were not very good. First we got our menus. We noticed thetruffle pasta wasn’t on there so we though, maybe it’s a special. So we asked. They said yes and said it was a special alongwith another appetizer and rack of lamb. Then later, we heard them telling the table next to us, two other special pastas alongwith the truffle that they did not tell us. They also never explained what kind of lamb it was when serving. Usually they saywhat kind of sauce it is or how it was prepared. All they did was set it on the table and said lamb with mashed potato andgrilled vegetables like carrots, tomatoes and bell pepper. When I called the waiter to ask him to have something to go, as Iwaved my hand in the air, he rolled his eyes. The waiter also put someone else’s bag of items in our bag so when we got to thehotel, I called the restaurant and told then I would leave sit in the lobby. Was very dissatisfied with service but food wasgreat. Read more

We enjoyed a nice dinner at Pelago. Overall the food was a 3.5-4 out of 5. We had a few dishes: the burrata (which was our... favourite), the fettuccine with truffles (when I had this dish last time here about a year ago it was much better. This time itfelt like the pasta was just slightly overcooked and not as good as previous), the pompano fish (it was good) and the lambspecial (this was okay). Service is always great here though and the ambiance is nice. Not sure if I would come back againthough Read more

Absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had. If it's your first time visiting, splurge and go for the chef's tasting and... you'll get to try SO many different things. There are five courses: cheese, risotto, pasta, choice of meat or fish, and dessert. Each course comes with a sampling of 3-4 items! Everything was out of this world and the wait staff was amazing. They wereattentive, warm and knowledgeable. I really felt transported to Italy! Read more
