Ordered a large pepperoni thin crust pizza from here yesterday for the first time in 7 years, and it was just as good as I... remembered. I used to go here at least weekly when I was in college and lived in the south loop. Since moving to a few differentneighborhoods since then, for some reason it completely slipped from my memory until last night. So happy to have rediscoveredit yesterday and will definitely be putting Pat?s back at my #1 go-to place for true, thin crust, square cut Chicago pizza. Bestsauce. Best cheese to topping ratio. Too many mushrooms! TLDR: get the fried ravioli and not Pat?s Special Upon recommendation, we went to Pat?s Pizza for their... tavern style pizza; a thin crust pizza with green bell peppers, sausage, onions, and mushrooms, the pizza that real Chicagofolks eat. This is a very small place, only counter space to eat if you were to stay. The fried ravioli appetizer wasincredible! We devoured 6 pillowy, cheesy ravioli with marinara sauce, an Italian version of pico de gallo, and a squeeze oflemon. We ate the entire order on our walk back to the hostel! While we like each of the toppings that the special includes,the combination and amount made for a pretty wet pizza and the only flavor to come through was mushroom. Every bite wasmushroom. I started removing mushrooms from my slices just to see if I could taste something else. I would give place only 3stars if I wasn?t still thinking about going back to order more fried raviolis.
