Had a fantastic meal here this evening on my trip to Chicago. Had an unexpected flight delay and was wandering around wicker... park in athleisure and a baseball cap when I decided to pop in here for some dinner. Despite me not looking restaurant ready thehostess was incredibly sweet and welcoming and made a great first impression. I ordered one of the house made sodas which wassweet and refreshing. The olive oil that came with the bread was high quality. I got the meatballs appetizer which was verygood. I also got the pistachio and shrimp pasta which was a unique delicious dish that won't be found anywhere else. Fantastic.My server was kind and enthusiastic about the food, other staff kept my water filled and tended the dishes and glassware. Thiswas one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while and I hope to visit again! Read more
This is such a tremendous place. The dishes are both creative and absolutely delicious. The pasta is fresh, the bread is to... die for, and the pizza is perfect. Gerardo was our server and he was provided great service and was a joy to be around. The arancini and salad were delicious. I... especially loved the pacchieri pasta dish with a pistachio cream sauce. Different flavor than I've had before and I reallyenjoyed it. Let me start by saying I am a very particular Italian-American when it comes to an overall restaurant experience. If I could... give 6 stars, I would. I’m sad that I don’t live closer so I could experience more of their menu. They claim to be moreSouthern-centric, but, their offerings are Italy North to South. Everything was done to expectation and then some. Our waiter,Gianluca, made a great experience perfect. His suggestions were spot on. Allowed us to try a couple wines before selecting andhis suggestion for a digestivo couldn’t have been better. This is the epitome of what a small neighborhood restaurant shouldbe. This restaurant is very near and dear to my heart. The success of a restaurant lies predominantly on the executive chef and... Christian Alejandro is such an amazing chef, father, and role model. I have been to a lot of fine dining restaurants but thistops all of them. There is something really special about every detail in every course. Everything is carefully and thoughtfullyprepared – a lot of them are made in-house, like the pistachio ice cream and focaccia bread. Mmmm.. I definitely recommendthis Italian restaurant. Outstanding food & service! Great cocktails and wine selection. My friend Anna would’ve taken a Limonce to go. The appetizers... & salad were generously portioned and reasonably priced. The entrees (pasta & risotto) were fresh and flavorful. Hands down thebest Italian we’ve had in Chicago! To top it all off, our server Laure was ABSOLUTELY phenomenal. Wow, this is my favorite Italian restaurant hands down. The staff are very friendly, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is... very classy. Have been there 3 times in the last month and a half, tried almost everything on their menu and everything were sogood. I had Italian wine for the first time and it paired with my food perfectly.
