My ceramics class started going there every week before class. The place we liked, Golden Nugget closed. I always have a waffle... with blueberries and whipped cream. Alps serves non dairy whipped cream. Terrible! So I asked and the got real whipped cream (naturally in a can, not like Elly?s Pancake House who whips their own). AND when I pointed out to the owner that they wereserving non dairy, he had no clue that they were or that there was real whipped cream in the world. And he owns a restaurant?!?!Don?t expect fresh ingredients here. Then, one of our group only had coffee and the waitress went ballistic on her because sheneeded to charge it because she had no cash. This waitress seems to think the place is Ed Debevics where you can insult people.That was never cool. She is always sarcastic and insulting so I now ask that we get a table not in her area. Today, they didn?thave real whipped cream, although I told the server when I ordered that I didn?t want the non dairy. He brings it anyway. I sendit back. HUGE scene. The owner comes over and starts yelling at me! Do I want it or not??? That is all they have!!! They can?tget real whipped cream for me! We were in Chicago got the weekend and searched for a near by breakfast place. Alps did not disappoint! Great service that was... fast. Delicious food! My son said the chicken noodle soup was the best he?s had. Do not leave without pancakes! So yummy. Can?twait to go back. Read more
