Got take out. Fast and delish. (I had to get no sauce on it due to allergy).
Ordered delivery from the Edgewater location and was very happy with my meal with one exception: the spicy Japanese tacos were... much much too spicy (and I like spice.) I couldn’t eat more than a couple of bites before my mouth felt like it was on fireand I couldn’t even taste the actual food. Very disappointed. I ordered the spicy miso soup, unagi sashimi, smoked salmon nigiri, and kappa maki. My server was kind and courteous and made me... feel welcome. The soup was delicious. A right amount of spicy to where it was not overwhelming, hot, and flavorful. The smokedsalmon was not overly salty and it was a nice portion. The only "con" was that the kappa maki wasn't exactly cut evenly (whichdoesn't affect the flavor at all) and I asked for my unagi without sauce but it still had the glaze on there. The sushi rice wasnice, they seem to have a good mixture and it compliments the their ingredients well. Their space has lots of bright andinviting colors as well. I will definitely be back. Read more
This place has always been hit-or-miss with me, sometimes the Ramen is fantastic, sometimes it is watery and tasteless. I guess... it depends on who is cooking, but whoever was in Is the sushi kitchen tonight really outdid themselves. The tom yum roll and thecrazy calamari Had the most flavor, really enjoyed the texture variation between each bite. The shrek role was My personalfavorite, the fish tasted very fresh and was very tender. We were tempted to get the Loyola lover role but were very full after2 appetizers, 4 roles and a dessert. Probably visit again if they have a happy hour we can take advantage of, it's littleexpensive but we didn't leave hungry. Tempted to try the chirashi bowl the next time we come. Great experience.???? Was absolutely impressed with this place! They have great patio seating, friendly staff, high quality sushi at an affordable... price, and it's BYOB! I was also impressed by the food selections besides the sushi. What else could anyone ask for? This is agreat Edgewater restaurant! Read more
Great place to enjoy sushi rolls and Japanese fusion food. This restaurant caught my attention driving by and we decided to go... in for a quick lunch. We are so glad we did. Atmosphere was great, food was delicious and price was reasonable. Plenty of streetparking at lunch time, so that made it even easier. Read more
Meh, it was okay. Spicy mayo is my benchmark for good sushi. It was not great here. It tastes like it has mustard in it. I... ordered the spicy salmon tempura. The salmon tasted like it came out of a can. The Kyoto fries were delicious! The crab sticktopping was torched, which gave it that wonderful caramelized flavor. The plain fries themselves were deliciously salty. Thesweet potato sushi was good, like any other sushi place. I guess it's hard to mess this one up. The sushi rice is very goodhere. The miso soup was good. Very flavorful. The Panaang beef curry was good. This dish is usually one of my favorites, which is why I got this. It was good but I wouldn't order it again. The sauce wasn't thick like I expected. I didn't care forthe Jasmin rice. It didn't taste like anything and was dry. Finally the Mo Yasai. I love deep fried sushi, which is why I gotthis. It was as good as I expected. The melty cream cheese & eel sauce (sweet sauce) was very good. Read more
