Reviews for Lost Bowls in Chicago, IL
Ordered from Uber eats and I requested tofu instead of veggies and I got charged an extra $2.50. Also I ordered the street bowl... in which the main ingredient is noodles and it came without noodles, so basically just a bowl of cabbage and a few pieces oftofu. Read more
Can't really get more middle-of-the-ground than this place. I've eaten here over 10 times now and I can definitely say their... wings are their best offering, though they're way too expensive for the portion size. The Bao are next in line for me, butthey're very hit or miss -- for instance, my favorite Bao they offer is the pork belly bao, but at least 1/3 of the time, thetaste is off and it's far too salty. Their "street bowls" are awful, in my opinion. Every one I've had, no matter which sauceI selected, tasted pretty much the same. I believe this is in part due to using the same cooking pans with minimal to nocleaning between cooking different bowls. Every single one had a taste of their Szechuan sauce, which I strongly feel is not agood flavor. I'm a Louisiana native with Cajun blood who's a HUGE fan of spicy food too, so coming from me, that's saying alot. Overall, I would never suggest eating here, but if you choose to, I'd strongly advise sticking to the wings and/or bao. There are plenty of better options around however, especially with the French Market 1 block away. Despite saying it's"middle-of-the-road," I'm giving it 2 stars for pricing vs. portion size vs. quality of food; as many other reviews state, theportion sizes definitely don't seem to match the pricing. I believe that applies to every item on their menu. Read more
?Street bowls?.....um yes please. This spot is in the bottom of my building and it?s second time I?ve been while traveling here... for work. I had soba noodles with tofu and ginger sauce and it was delicious. Definitely worth a try if I?m the neighborhood. Should have gotten some kombucha as well. Next time! ???????????????? Read more
Nice place. Easy to miss it on the street (although you will probably smell the smoke that is sent to the sidewalk ????). Tried... the Wings, the Bao and one of the Noodles. Noodles are great (I had the Udon with ribeye and the spicy sauce) and also the Bao(pork belly). The wings (sweet and spicy) are mehh. The atmosphere here is nice too, but can get a bit busy during lunch (bettercoming before 11:30 or after 12:40). Read more
I wanted this place to be really good because I live a block away. Tried work-day take-out for lunch with a buddy from work. ... We both got the noodles with peanut sauce. The food was not good. It was the least peanut-y peanut sauce I've ever had, wasmassively salty and was downright bad. The noodles were cooked well, but the dish could have used more veggies to lighten theheavy noodles. Not going back. Read more
Not bad, kind of small portions for the price. Flavors are pretty good, next time I?ll try the wings.
We tried Wok N' Bao for lunch and it was delightful. The setup is the same as Asadito(Mexican restaurant next door) and I... actually like this food more than Asadito. I tried the MSG wings(next time I will ask for them to be cooked for about 1-2 minslonger so they are crisper like I like) and my husband tried the Street Bowl with jasmine rice and chicken. It was great forhim because it did not have egg. The wait time was minimal and the food was hot and right from the grill. I will be addingthis to the list of restaurants for lunch. Read more
