In Chicago for a concert and found La Mexicana across the street, thought I would have an app while I wait. It was joy what I... expected. It had more of a fast food vibe. You can either order at the kiosk screens they have or at the counter. I ordered theMexi-fries with steak as my protein. Steak is a $3.00 up charge. They were alright, but a bit more Americanized than I thoughtthey?d be. The dish was drowning in yellow cheese. The steak was good, the whole dish was good, but I?d probably not order thefries again. They also have desserts, 3 leches cake, churros, and fried ice cream, but I did not see them on the menu. The onlything I saw about dessert was a sign they had on the table after you sit down. This place has good food. However, the prices are definitely on the high side. I suppose for the area it's appropriate. The food... is tasty but overpriced. A three taco dinner with beans and a drink is nearly $20. A shrimp bowl and a drink is almost $18. Noton every day type of possibility. The servers or cashier certainly could to bring a smile once in awhile. They rarely do. Alittle show of appreciation for the business would help bring me back a little more often also. The place is clean. That hasnever been an issue. Other than the employees being less than enthusiastic of your arrival and your money spent, and perhaps theparking be being less than plentiful, I give it four stars. I was originally going to Outpost across the street when it was CLOSED! I saw La Mexicana Grill and decided to try. It was super... good. Literally authentic Mexican food, asada fries, the chicken burrito bowl absolutely amazing. Deserves a five star. Read more

Im honestly taken aback by my last experience here. This was my go to Mexican take out place until recently when I was delivered... food that was covered in mold. Truthfully I can't even begin to comprehend how this was even sent to me looking the way it did,clearly covered in green mold. It was such a negative experience that it now makes me question the sanitation and food safetypractices of the whole restaurant. What a shame, sadly would not recommend this place to anyone.
