omakase menu was not worth the price, in general super small portions that left us hungry at the end of the meal. some of the... stuff we tried was excellent but a lot of it was just okay and since we ordered sake it turned out to be over 300$ + tip. if iwent again i would order off the menu instead of omakase, but i have had equally great sushi for much cheaper so i don’t thinki would go out of my way to return Read more

I saw that this spot was rated as one of the best sushi spots in Chicago, so I had to try on a recent trip. I sat at the chefs... counter and it was fun to watch all the chefs curate beauty sushi dishes. The drinks were okay. Nothing to write home about. The sushi was delicious! I also got a squid ink with scallop. Do NOT pass up the opportunity to order it. It was delicious! Theuni was so delicious. The selection of fish I did was good. The barracuda wasn’t the freshest, but overall good. Read more

Freshest sushi and sashimi I’ve had in a while. Delicious appetizers and spot on drinks also. The restaurant extends to the... back room and is very spacious. The staff were all attentive and helpful with selections as well. Great experience and willdefinitely go back! Read more

Simply…spectacular! The master chef was in and we could get the omakase. I can only present you pictures of every dish, but I... can assured you that every single piece was perfect. The waiter was knowledgeable, welcoming, warm. The dining room was quiteand comfortable. The chef was working in the open kitchen as if he were in Tokyo or Kyoto. Another perfect night to celebratelife and love. Read more

Absolutely fabulous, truly. I'm so happy I didn't pay attention to the critical reviews (sorry folks you have no clue on high... end sushi based on those comments). I've been visiting upscale sushi spots for over a decade across SoCal, NYC, and Japan. Thisis by far one of my favorite, and I'm definitely coming back. On top of the perfectly seasoned selections which were completelymelt in your mouth, the service provided by Patrick G was top notch, friendly, and made us feel like long time customers. Wewere a bit concerned bringing our infant with us however, it was no issue. Everyone was so kind and helpful, even the floormanager/hostess came by several times to say hi to her and interact. There's also a very uncommon Japanese beer (in the US)they're carrying which was the perfect smooth balance with the meal. Can't wait to be back again! Read more

Stand out sushi spot combining fresh fish with unexpected flavors. Added bonus to watch the sushi chefs work from the bar.... Intimate atmosphere & friendly service. Will have to return to explore more of the menu. ???? Junomono: seaweed salad & crispypickles. Fun to eat ???? Seared scallop: nicely seared w/ al-dente squid ink pasta robust umami flavor ???? Eel trio: 3 stylesof salt water eel. Shiro anago was marinated in sake; unexpectedly sweet & unique ???? Smoked Hamachi: hamachi sashimi that’ssmoked and served with shiitake & freeze dried corn. Never thought freeze-dried corn could be used for sushi ???? Tako maguromaki: spicy octopus was tender w/ just the right amount of heat. Crispy shredded potato strips added nice crunch Read more

Yes it can be over priced ($110pp)and I can attest to the portions being small. I do have to say that the ambience is very... tranquil and the attention to detail is remarkable! The dress code should really be semi-formal simply based on the presentationof the location. The waitress and attention our party received was great. Shout-out to Elainne and making our experienceawesome! Read more
