What a hidden gem! I just ordered at Junebug for the first time today (about 30 mins ago actually) and felt a review was... definitely necessary. I ordered the bowl of gumbo w/rice and an order of beignets. The gumbo was perfectly seasoned and thesausage was amazing. The beignets were fresh and the texture was on point. Everything was so comforting and true to New Orleansflavor. I?m stoked I found this place and cannot wait to try their meat pies. 10/10! Read more

Great place for some coffee and a quick snack. I had a latte and a caramel apple hand pie. Service was quick and I was in and... out. Can't wait to try their beignets on my next visit! Read more

I decided to try Junebug on a whim after passing by it quite often and it was 100% worth the detour. I ended up trying a corn... muffin, a meat pie, and 3 beignets along with a mocha. I wish I had ordered more of the meat pies since they were so good! Itwas so flavorful and seasoned perfectly. The little sauce complimented it amazingly. The corn muffin went well with the meatpie, not too overwhelming but not lacking in flavor. It was my first time having beignets as well and they did not hold off onthe powdered sugar which was excellent. The beignets went great with my mocha and I got to enjoy them outside on a table nearbyand enjoy the changing leaves. One of those cafes that has great food options and great coffee as well. It's super great tohave some Lousiana styled cooking or grab a nice cup of coffee in the area. I highly recommend a visit if you're in Old IrvingPark or Portage Park, it is definitely worth stopping in. Read more

A warm, inviting family-owned eatery in Six Corners serving up simple but delicious New Orleans flavors. Having Dark Matter... coffee is a nice plus, too! Our food was served up fast and hot; the gumbo was most impressive with a light smokiness andbuttery richness. The meat pie was yummy and crisp - pastry definitely homemade. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood! Read more
