As a fellow Jamaican, I give this restaurant a 10/10!!! My favorite item was the jerk fries. They had so much seasoning and were... the perfect combination of sweet and savory! I even had to go back for thirds! The chicken and chicken wings were seasonedperfectly. The Yuca fries and jerk mac and cheese were to die for. Very clean place and friendly, engaging staff. I?m usually not one to leave bad reviews but this meal was terrible. The macaroni taste like it came straight from a box. This... picture is after i had it sitting on my desk for 20 mins before i put it in the trash. This is definitely not good jerk and thefood needs to be tweaked a lot. The only thing i enjoyed was the donut bread. Chicken was TOUGH and plantains were rubbery.Sorry not sorry i was definitely disappointed in this meal. First and last time ordering from here for sure. You have to stop here for Jamaican when in Chicago. The jerk chicken, wings, jerk mac and cheese and island slaw were... incredible. Authentic island flavor slow cooked to perfection. My least favorite was the fries but that was only becauseeverything else was so good. I regret not getting more because there were no leftovers after I ate it up! Read more
Finally made it in to try after years of saying ?we should try that place?. Why didn?t we head in sooner? For starters, the... servers at the counter were all super sweet. They answered all of our questions patiently. The interior was super clean andmodern feeling. Lots of natural light and very bright. Just lovely. Now, the food. The food was delicious. My friend and Isplit our food: I got the pulled pork with slaw and jerk mac and cheese. I also got jerk yucca fries on the side. She got thechicken with plantains and Mac and cheese. Both entrees also came with coconut rice and beans and a cornbread fritter. We askedfor all 3 sauces (rude girl, jerk BBQ and cilantro lime aioli) plus we got an extra little cup of hot sauce. Literallyeverything was so good. Yucca fries were nice and crispy on the outside, the chicken and pulled pork were moist, the coconutrice was something I?ll be dreaming about for a while. The sauces were all really good but my favorite was rude girl. Definitelyask for that extra kick of hot sauce, it made the meal! Jamaican approved ???? not sure what these other reviews are talking about. I?m always a bit nervous to try Jamaican restaurants... but this was so good!!! This is the closest rice and peas I?ve had since moving to America. The Mac and cheese was nice andcreamy. Plantain cooked just right. And the chicken was seasoned just enough. My god this food is amazing! First time trying jerk chicken and they 100 percent knocked it out of the park. I prefer my food... spicy and they definitely accommodated. Portions are incredible value, their combo is where its at. 5 stars, 10/10! Read more
