Great selection and the easy prep instructions make it fun to cook. 90% of the food we have ordered has been great.
I had previously tried Green Chef and was disappointed, but part of it was my fault because I had chosen the vegetarian meal... plan the first week and changed it for the second week. Their packaging was color-coded so there were a lot of looseingredients you had to put together and not mix up later. Then I tried Home Chef and it is fantastic!! I love the way theypackage their food and the choices are plentiful. Each week you get to choose from 10 to 13 different recipes--you can let themchoose for you based on your detailed preferences or you can review what they've chosen for you and change it up. We've hadfour deliveries so far and we haven't had a repeat recipe yet. They also provide a plastic 3-ring binder for you to keep therecipes organized. I can't say enough about this company. I had a question for Home Chef so I accessed them through theircustomer service e-mail. They replied the very next morning. Oh, and their pricing is competitive, as well. It costs $19.90for a complete 2-person meal that includes restaurant-quality steak (if you want it). It would cost me $15 to get two valuemeals from McDonald's! You can get 4-person meals if you're feeding a family. I really love Home Chef!! Read more
Home Chef is a good experience, but what takes away from it being a great experience is having to pay for shipping, delays when... waiting for your meals at times, and not having the ability to have your meals sent on a weekend. I know there are promos whenyou start out, but after I wish there was a rewards program to get points for free shipping or for them to just make it free. Asfor some delays with food being shipped that happens, but I do think the company adding at least on weekend day to receive mealswould help out a lot of people who want to meal prep for the up coming week. I also would like to add that the coffee and orangejuice that they offer are nice but maybe they can partner with Lipton or another company to offer seasonal drinks/drink planwith meals. I only say Lipton because their green tea pineapple mango drink was in one of my home chef boxes and I went out thenext day looking for a case since it was so great. It's ok. Its good if your living up north or in a town where grocery stores are miles away from your home. Its good for fasting... and being on a diet. It's good because you can also suggest a recipe of your own. It's good???? Read more
Too many wrong ingredients! How do you send hoisin sauce instead of peanut butter?? That was just one order. Another missing all... seasonings. On another most of the ingredients were unusable. Too unpredictable Read more
Love, love, love this service! I've been ordering for a few months now and don't intend on stopping anytime soon. The recipes... are super delicious, many times better than a restaurant would be. If you like a good hearty meal and don't mind rolling up yoursleeves this is for you. I'm always excited to receive a new box and look forward to cooking dinner after work. I live in NJ andhad no trouble with deliveries so far. There is a lot of packaging and you might receive a wilted vegetable here and there, butthe meats are always great. Definitely try the culinary collection dishes. They come at a premium but are absolutely worth it ifyou're looking for quality. Read more
I have been ordering Home Chef for more than a year. Their food is consistently fresh and tasty. They?re website is easy to use.... Their Customer Service is outstanding, which is very important. The few times they made a mistake, they gave the appropriatecredit without a problem. Their portions are generous and their instruction cards are very easy to follow and have all the infoyou need on them. You have to keep up with your orders on the website or you will get and be charged for their choices based onyour preferences. Honestly, I don?t know how it could be better run. I love Home Chef. I?ve tried other meal delivery sites, and I like the recipes the most with Home Chef. They are unique and... fresh ingredients. I just had a Pear & Blue Cheese Pizza with smoked almonds and caramelized onions. Which was incredible.Though that?s a simple recipe they had. I don?t like when they substitute ingredients sometimes.
