What can I say other than superb? From the hostess to the server assistants. Everyone carried themselves with the utmost... professionalism but at the same time making us feel very welcome. Start to finish. And that?s just the staff. The food was justtoo good for words. I think he goes unsaid that most things are on the pricier side but worth every penny. We did the CarnivalFeast package and it was the perfect amount of food. Plus we added on 3oz of A5 Japanese wagyu. Possible the best thing I haveever tasted. I visited holu for couple times before, and on last Monday evening I came over for their bar snacks pairing with some drinks. ... Holly s.t...the apps and snacks from bar was so delicious and impressive as the steak dinner on table. Bartender customized myfavor with some innovative recipes for cocktails. I really feel like I have been to the best restaurant in Chicago after visiting HOLU yesterday! Totally classy, an elegant... decor in Copper and Pink, food and drinks were perfection, and we received outstanding service! I have been to many restaurantsall over the world and this one is in my top 10 now. My daughter and I were celebrating our birthdays and the HOLU team made itvery special. We ordered the Carnival Package, which was absolutely delicious and a good experience. The USDA Prime dry agedsteaks were excellently prepared and cooked to perfection. The clam pumpkin soup was out of this world...again, simplydelicious. All the perfectly seasoned vegetables that came with the dinner were so good, especially the purple cabbage pickles!We loved the attention paid by the 3 attentive servers, who cooked for us and served the meal. Ting and Eddie not only werefriendly but also very informative about Asian traditions, the foods, and how they are prepared. They are excellentrepresentatives for HOLU. We ordered the Polar Bear In Snow and the Falling In Leaves craft house cocktails which were sooogood. At the end of our meal, we were served Vanilla ice cream with berry sauce on top. Delicious! We were there a couple ofhours but were never made to feel rushed out by the servers. We found parking very easy across the street in 24/7 free parkinglot. The most delicious and amazing steak experience in Chicago. You can order individually or as a set. Leo, whom I highly... recommend, was our grill master and cooked all the steaks to perfection. The cocktails were all exceptional and each one hadsuch a unique palette, highly recommended the seasonal cocktails. Like recently the Demon Kite. The space is so beautifullydesigned and the aesthetic is current and fantastic for an evening with friends/family or a special occasion with a specialsomeone. Highly recommend the wagyu tartare app, the crab cakes are fabulous, the wild mushroom cappuccino is ABSOLUTE! Soextremely worth it. Read more
This place is amazing. Service was great, engaged into conversations, clean up was spot on and explained things perfectly. The... meat was delicious and super tender and very yummy!! In addition to the steak sampler, we added on 2 Japanese A5 pieces (filet and ribeye) peranother reviewers suggestion. We also got the seafood platter. Everything was delicious on there. The scallops were cookedperfectly. Wow!! Ivy prepared and grilled our steaks. She was also sweet. Made me so happy to get to spend that time with her.She was very knowledgeable about the cuts of meat and grilled it to perfection. Killer Japanese Steak House In Chicago!!! excellent meat quality. the cut is very marble (in a good way) so if you prefer lean... cuts take caution. holu was easily my favorite there and strongly recommended. They customize the steak into any weight, anyshape for our party group, this is unique and special in town. not the usual k-bbq type of place where you would be drinkingsoju with the meal. more club-like vibe and they have a legit bar instead.
