Very homey feeling to the area. The food was very authentic and comforting. Very large portions so get ready to share!
Took a full hour and a half, and what we got was absolutely terrible. We paid over $100 and we got an inedible sauerbraten that... tasted like it had been left in the back of the fridge for too long, "dumplings" that are clearly just reheated slices of mushin watery, flavorless gravy, and a porkshank that was completely unseasoned and contained congealed, gelatinous fat. The pizzawas fine, but not up to the quality it once was, and frankly a waste of a D. O. C. certificate, and the cheese dip was bland andwas so chunky it was unspreadable. One of the last great German restaurants in Lincoln Square. This is a must-visit if you want any of the old German comfort... foods. Prices are reasonable, the beer selection is expansive, and the environment is fun. Make a stop! Read more

Been meaning to try to come here for awhile now, so glad we finally made the choice to come in. The food was above and beyond.... Super kind staff and cozy atmosphere. Great German beer. And to top it all off, I highly recommend getting the cherry strudelfor dessert. We will come back again to try the oven baked pizza and live music on the week days. Read more
