Halligan Bar is a funny place cause I?ve only known it as Halligan?s but that?s not even the right name hahahahaha. That?s... beside the point, this is a great place to have a pint and think CRITICALLY. I heard that before the indoor smoking ban inChicago, cigs were a common occurrence at this establishment. Stopped in here on a bar crawl and can I just tell you this place is perfect. It might be the best price for Guinness in the... city and you truly got a Chicago bar experience here. The crowd seemed upbeat and interactive and the music was a great mix of90s and newer jams. Read more
Open late on a Wednesday night, which was great considering many places around there closed at 10. Keep this spot in mind for... after show drinks if you go to the Park West theater. The mixed drinks (I had a gin & tonic) were good, and the service was good(and it's the first time my bartender was wearing lululemon ????). The music, a mix of rap, dance, and country that night(!!),was pretty loud, but it was still fine to talk. Soon after midnight there was a birthday celebration, replete with shots (shots,shots, shots ????), and - whatthehell - we joined everyone singing the happy birthday song. Read more
Very disappointed, was so looking forward to going to a nice bar in USA for first time, Decor lovely, nice location. Sadly my... drink was not what was supposed to be; I have drank the same drink for 36 years so i know the taste and colour. The drink that iwas served from a Southern Comfort bottle was not Southern Comfort. It was sweet and nasty and totally different colour. Even myteetotal husband could tell difference. Second time here and I dropped my debit and ID on the ground, went back two days later and the bartender had a box of cards and... gave them back. First time this has happened anywhere in CHI for me. I love you Halligans Read more
