Cozy. Elevated Tuscan Italian in a casual atmosphere. Perfect unpretentious date night spot or with a group 6 or less. Service... was attentive. Whole table gave this a “home run”. Can’t go wrong with fresh pasta! Next time would like to try theseafood options. Read more

we are BACK at Gussie’s despite Reem getting food poisoning. the brown butter ravioli would have been DELICIOUS if it didn’t... have the brown butter ????. my dish (spaghetti w heirloom cherry tomatoes) was fab and quite refreshing. reem got the fettuccinealfredo. this was the highlight of the table for me - i did not except it to be THAT delicious. i’m not typically a creamsauce girl due to my dairy intolerance but this was lovely. fataytay got the parpadelle which was ok but nothingspecial• • overall, very delicious ! would go back def for the bread (not pictured bc i forgot) and for the passtuh. willreem get food poisoning this time??? only time will tell!!! ????????????????????????#laiëboys Read more

This place puts a lot of thought into their menu. The extra effort by the chef to use the best and more difficult ingredients... to procure make this place a gem of an italian restaurant. The gnudi is a generous helping of ricotta stuffed balls in brownbutter sage. A much lighter fare than gnocci. The carbonara is made with guanciale (pork cheek) rather than pancetta (porkbelly) which added a higher fat content but was more buttery and tender texture to the traditional dish. Lastly, the dine-incomplimentary signature bread is amazing!! Its a garlic bread with marscapone cheese which gave it a creamier base with thecrunchy toast of the bread. And the price point for these unique takes on italian fare is at or better than other Bib Gourmandrated places. The portions will not disappoint. I cannot wait to try their other menu items. The staff is very friendly andworth the dine-in experience. Read more

3.5 rating We came for restaurant week, but the Gnudi, which had been on the menu for the Choose Chicago website, was not on... the menu when we arrived. Our server could have cared less. The free bread was the highlight of our meal. Presentation of themeatballs for restaurant week was definitely overlooked. Both the sausage and meatball dish were good, albeit nothingremarkable. Wild Boar pasta was the least favorite. Although the pasta aspect was perfect texture and consistency, the ragu wasso over-peppered we had to ask for cheese to calm the seasonings. Dishes were reasonably priced for handmade food, but flavorsfrom the pasta dish left something to be desired. Customer service was fair, but if you arrive early or have to wait for yourtable, be ready to awkwardly wait near patrons eating. Read more

We were led here from reviews of the previous restaurant, which is no longer here. The food was well prepared, but not overly... amazing. However the pre-meal bread was stuffed with cream cheese and frankly saved the rest of the meal. I would probably goback just for that bread and give it another chance. Read more

Cute little local Italian restaurant. Fair prices and great fresh quality pasta. Awesome customer service and ambiance. The... starter bread roll is amazing! The shrimp Alfredo was perfect with a light sauce and fairly good sized prawns. The brown butterhoney ravioli was delicious. However, I would recommend the brown butter honey ravioli as either an appetizer or a plate toshare, having it as just an entre, the flavor can get boring very quickly. Overall great experience and I would definitelyrecommend. Read more

The service was great. The starter complimentary garlic bread was fantastic! I honestly was not able to tell if my pasta dish... however was undercooked or that’s how they cook it. Flavor wise was a bit bland for me. But still a nice place Read more

Amazing Italian food. Started off the meal with the best espresso martini I’ve ever had (not pictured). They serve the most... delicious, warm cheesy bread to start off the meal. For dinner, had the carbonara and the sausage appetizer. Was told thesausage was handmade and it tasted like it! Absolutely INCREDIBLE. And it was right across the street from Second City, veryconvenient for seeing a show after. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. Great, clean atmosphere. Will definitely begoing back.
