Reviews for guo tianxia in Chicago, IL
We love hot pot places and we'll add this one to our list. We liked being able to get up and choose additions to our meal from... the wall length refrigerator without waiting to order more. Broths were great. Service was very good - polite and attentive. Nocomplaints! Read more

People out here writing bad reviews but personally, this place is BUSSIN. Went to happy lamb but the wait was >2 hrs so decided... to come here. Broth tastes great and I could drink it solely as soup too. Good that people don?t know because there?s never aline on weekends. Bad because I think they deserve more customers. 5/5 will come again Read more
Why you guys always treat your customers as trash can and deliver the garbage quality broth and food? This is worst quality... ever had. Hope you guys earn money in a proper way. Read more

The meal was delicious, what a great addition to the Sichuan hot pot scene of Chicago! We got the half-half, with medium spicy... broth and the tomato broth. The tomato broth seemed a bit flat compared to other hot pot places in the city (Haidilao or QiaoLing), we liked the spicy broth?though will try to get the spiciest level next time! Thought it was mild but satisfied that theflavors were still delicious unlike other hot pot places where the broth could get super salty and spicy as the broth boilsdown. The spicy marinated beef on skewers was flavorful, and because most of the meat entrees are on skewers, sometimes therecould be shortages of skewers in the fridges before the staff takes out more skewers (takes time to prep). So when it gets busy,I can imagine the popular ones going out pretty fast?especially since the model is you take from the fridge of what?savailable. I feel the spicy broth and the marinated meats slightly lack the intense flavors as the ones I really loved back inChengdu, especially by the same brand, and I will probably stick to my other go-to hot pot spots in the city, but if I do wantsome skewers in the hot pot in Chicago ? this place is it! Took the family out and we really like the atmosphere and food. To see the kids mix their own favors with the was fun.
Service was slow the waiter eas busy watching Chinese show that was playing on t.v I had to flag him down for water like 8?xs... and when I ask him for a spoon he hand me a dirty spoon from the sauce area people used to scoop stuff and when I had it in myhand the spoon underneath the handle had food sauce stuck the whole entire back.. there I called him back.. I order hott pott asI was eating owner was talking bad and kept gossiping about me it was obvious he kept looking at me and made serveral commentsand laugh than wait or look over at me and started laughing as well.. it was clear because I came by myself and I had quite afew lot of plates and so goes on if I recommend this place no I wouldn?t it will be my first and last save your money and stayin Chinatown for happy lamb or any other places that cater hott pot still cheaper and better service.. what?s sad is the placealready slow but still lazy to go and grab a spoon but instead took a spoon from the sauce area that was already on top of thedirty plate where spoons and tongs being placed when done being used. where the tong was placed? just clearly bad.. how yougoing to do that in front of me and not expecting me to see it.. ughh no thank you Read more
