Reviews for Frietkoten Belgian Fries & Beer in Chicago, IL
My husband and I love this spot in Chicago French Market. House cut fresh fries, drinks and great burger options. We've been... here several times and each time I can't help but notice how well the two work together there.. barely a word exchanged betweenthem and all orders coming out in a timely fashion. Really busy around noon but worth it Everytime!! Read more
As a person growing up in Brabant (Netherlands and Belgian region of fries), frietkoten used to be my go to place for fries. It... seems they stopped double frying and instead frying longer...... it?s not the same. As a result soggy and fat fries instead ofthe crispy outside they used to had. What a pity, as they still advertise with double fried Belgium fries..... it?s just regularAmerican fries like this. Sincerely hope this was. One off miss.... Read more
My mom was in town visiting, we went to Frietkoten as she loves trying different types of fries. We ordered two petit fries with... truffle mayo, they also came with mayo and ketchup. The fries were really good and my mom was happy. The potatoes were Idahopotatoes and the fries were double fried. Thick cut, soft and just the right amount of crisp. Definitely recommended. Read more
Yes the fries are very good - unique - you can see them cutting the potatoes right there just before they're fried. But it's the... bar I'm writing about, the on e on their cover photo. It's the only place around that has that fabulous St. Bernardus beer ondraft. But they insist on putting f it in a plastic cup. Yuk! They'll put it in a mug if you sit at the bar but there is neverany room during drinking time. Read more
I had the blue cheese burger, which was good, but overpriced. The fries are great and worth a try.
Located inside the Chicago French Market. The fries are really good... not greasy, crispy. They have my favorite flavored... ketchup -- curry ketchup. It was tasty. I was not a fan of the burger. It was overcooked and chewy. I will be back for fries, but would grab a sandwich at another vendor. Read more
I had a craving for good belgian fries after a weekend of eating the best belgian fries ever. Fortunately, this French Market... location was right near work so I gave them a try. The fries were good and big, but there was nothing spectacular about it. The mayo dipping sauce that comes with it didn't add much. I also ordered the red spicy sauce, but it wasn't too spicy. It tastedlike spaghetti marinara sauce. I ordered the large and was only able to eat half of it despite my large appetite. Read more
