Food was exquisite. I’m really not an Italian good person - so I would say it’s hard to find a place that I actually would... recommend or come again. But Formento’s had AMAZING food and drinks. It was so yummy, and the ambiance was amazing. I wouldhave gave it a 5/5 but they wouldn’t allow my service dog to come in so I had to find a last minute babysitter. I have neverhad a restaurant turn me away for having a service dog, with forms in hand. This was the first. Read more

Beautiful up-scale Italian restaurant! Perfect for a date night or anniversary celebration, etc. The food was unique and... fantastic! Definitely on the pricey side but I would say that it was worth it. Tried octopus for the first time and I wasdefinitely not disappointed! Read more

First time here tonight and it was wonderful. Great atmosphere and service was wonderful. Dani, our server, and her partner were... a dynamic duo and took care of us. Let me start off by saying that I have a gluten allergy and am also dairy free, so normallyan Italian restaurant is not my first pick of choice. But, they walked through the details of both and Dani guided me to what Icould and couldn't eat. They had gluten free bread, and the pasta was hands down the best gluten free pasta I've had in the 7years of being gluten free. The blood orange sorbet was also amazing. They took care of me and my dietary needs, and for this,I will certainly be back! Read more

Early dinner starting at 6pm wasn't busy/crowded at all. Sat outside where there was more tables available outside than I... would've expected and spaced well. Great spot for people watching as well as there are so many characters walking by! Servicewas spot on from the get go as our server was extremely friendly having us laugh along with her. Gave good recommendations whenwe had questions and checked on us without going overboard. Felt like we had ordered the entire menu as we got a nice range ofdishes. Started off right as they brought out black pepper focaccia with olive oil to wet our whistle. For an appetizer, Oysterswere tasty (east coast tasted smoother and would recommend those). Definitely get the burrata and heirloom tomatoes as well asgrandma's meatballs. Tiger prawns were the only meh dish as they were a bit mushy in texture and so so flavor. All pastas weregreat, but the carbonara nailed it with the crispy pork bits. Chicken parm was succulent as was the skirt steak. Tiramisu wasexcellent, but the chocolate cake took the... Well, took the cake. Moist, succulent, right amount of sweetness... We orderedanother to go. Must come back! Read more

We had our wedding celebration in the event space at Formento’s. Their event planning team, Jane and Elizabeth, were fantastic... to work with. Extremely responsive and invested in making sure our event went off without a hitch. They were very flexible withsome last minute changes that were made. Also, the food and service at Formento’s is amazing. That was our #1 priority whenpicking a place for the event. Read more

This is definitely a must-visit for me when I come back to Chicago! Despite being under-dressed for this establishment, I was... treated to a fantastic dining experience! Our server was exceptional and the food was out of this world. I've been on the huntfor a solid carbonara, and Formento's has by far had the best one yet! Read more

I've eaten here many times and have never had a bad experience. I usually come in a group of four and we usually order 2-3... appetizers and 2-3 entrees (pasta, meat, fish) that we all split. (Pic attached? I'd also start with 1-2 cocktails beforesplitting at least one bottle of wine. I recommend the meatballs, Calamari, and bruschetta, remember you also get bread whichis good. For entrees I'd recommend two pastas, usually one cream and one meat, and a steak or a fish. You really can't go wrongand everything is so good! Pair it with a nice bottle of red and you'll have a great night, especially since you can bar hop onRandolph. Read more
