Fig & Olive was AMAZING, and this is coming from someone who’s not a big fan of Mediterranean ‘cooking’. The salads were... simply stunning, unbelievable artistry of flavour, texture and interpretation. They’re now on my list of Chicago favourites &you must go Read more

I sat at the bar. The bartender was less than attentive, but the drink I had and rhe food were wonderful. The drink was a... delightful, not too sweet cirtus concoction...the Rossellini. I had the choice of three crostini. The blend of flavors weresubtle; each an exciting taste experience. The lamb skewers...I don't know how to describe the right balance of spice with thedelicious accompaniments. Read more

The ambiance here is truly best in class - a lot of attention was paid to creating a subtle, sharp, but warm style of lighting,... the design of the space is similarly well constructed, with large seating areas that have likewise large amount of space forwalking and traversing around the bar. The central bar location draws the eye and exudes a sense of energy. Wide range ofMediterranean cuisine, along with great bar food like truffle fries, which were absolutely soaked in delicious truffle oil. Theside of rainbow carrots and sweet potatoes was my other favorite. I hope to do the dinner portion with hummus and pomegranatesnext time. Artistic presentation and style as well. Drinks were another highlight, the Tres Serieux was essentially anorange-apricot forward Old Fashioned with a great complexity of flavor and strength. Wine prices were reasonable and ended upgetting a bottle of Rose with my date as well. Service was another high point and reason to come. I had made reservations butended up sitting at the bar and the host, Armani came to check if we were okay where we were. Mileena, our bartender wasengaging, funny and had a great sense of presence. Offered great suggestions and had a strong sense of authenticity. Read more

Always a good time at the Fig! I've now been here twice and both times the food did not disappoint. I would definitely advise... sampling the different crostini (skip the one that features peas), the cheese board, and the provence chicken dish. The firsttime I visited the service was spot on. The second time I visited it was not. The waiter was all over the place, didn't followup at all, and we were not thanked for coming in as we left. Decor is stunning. French country meets mid century modern. Veryunique, elegant, and well played considering the location on Oak Street. I think the price point is totally fair for thequality of food! I hear their happy hour is quite impressive (half priced crostini?!) so If I do come back, it'll be for HH. Read more
