I loved this place from the second moment, at first I was thrown back by the smell of smoke which is part of the history so in 2... seconds you get used to it and then enjoy the place even more, super friendly staff and the al Capone rigatoni and the Alfredowere amazing and make sure to try the cannelloni- we were very happy and can recommend for sure Read more
Back in Chicago from Ireland. I think I grew gills from all the fried fish I ate! It was great but I needed pizza!! The deep... dish pizza here is so damn good! I had never tried it here until my partner introduced it to me about 4 months ago. I waswowed! So so good! I burned my tongue last night, of course. We had a decent experience overall. The staff was friendly and kept us informed. We had to wait a bit for the food because... there was full and the pizza takes time. The decor takes you back to an era where you had to hide to drink. If you have sometime feel free to move on in. Read more

First time visiting here! Excellent customer service from entrance to our waiter. Ordered a small build your own deep dish... pizza: mushrooms, spinach, pepperoni. This was the best tasting pizza I?ve had in a while. It?s sooooo filling. My BF and Ishared a small and I could barely finish the second slice. Overall this place was mediocre. My husband and I were on vacation and it was our first time eating here. After dining in, we... are surprised that this place has such good reviews. From subpar food, to poor waitressing. The restaurant itself was verypretty on the outside and inside. Keep in mind that this place does not have public restrooms. Seems like all places are likethis in Chicago for some unknown reason. Anyway. Our waitress was friendly but was not attentive to our very basic needs at all.Like my drink needing a refill. Most of the time the servers were huddled up talking by the computers and on their phones. Mydrink sat empty on the edge of the table for over 15 minutes. The entire time we were there, she came over to check on us once.We only got a box and the check(another waitress brought us our check btw) after having to wave her down after sitting therewaiting for twenty minutes. Not acceptable. Now for the food. We ordered a small house salad with ranch. There were two slicesof cucumber, two slices of tomato, and three croutons. Topped with what tasted like cheap and unappetizing Hidden Valley ranchdressing. At this point we didn?t have high hopes. We also ordered a deep dish pizza. We did half and half toppings. From whatI?ve eaten and seen in the past, Chicago deep dish pizzas normally have the sauce on top with cheese underneath. This pizza didnot. My husband had Italian beef and mushrooms on his half. He didn?t like either. He said the mushrooms looked and tasted likethey came straight out of a can. My side of the pizza, however, was delicious. No complaints there.
