I heard about this place after seeing it on the NY Times best 50 restaurants in the US list and had to try it since I had an... upcoming trip to Chicago scheduled... It did NOT disappoint! Everything was so perfectly curated, so fresh and creative! Eachplate had a lovely balance of flavors for the star ingredients. The service was also part of the magic - Jill was absolutelywonderful. The price point was great and the atmosphere was charming. Overall a spectacular dining experience! Read more

Went here for anniversary dinner last night. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of our waitress but she was fabulous. We... didn’t feel rushed, we ordered almost everything on the menu and everything was delicious. The escargot butter on my husbandssteak was the showstopper. Interesting and fun wine menu. The waitress really helped me make some very educated choices. Oneof the unfortunate things about COVID and the restaurant industry is it seems they have to push for table time limits andcustomer service is lacking. Not here. It wasn’t a cheap meal for us but it was totally worth it. Thank you for a greatanniversary meal. Read more

Portions are small and the plating leaves a lot to be desired, but the food here is exceptional, if kind of... unremarkable. Nothing here is really unique, and you can find versions of every dish executed well at many places in Chicago. But that's not to say don't visit Dear Margaret, it's a cute little spot in the neighborhood for a date or a weekend catch upwith friends. It's just not worth a trip here because it really doesn't have much that's unique on offer. Wine selection isgood, all the waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. The ambience is kind of off... It feels a bit plasticky, I don't knowhow else to describe it. Read more

Lovely French Canadian place. Opened in 2021 during pandemic and did carry out. Now dine in and al fresco. Amazing fresh baked... bread daily. Homemade butter. The mussels are to die for. You can drink the broth! It's so good. Table next to us saidsame.."you can drink this broth!" Fish was lovely. Fries yummy! The pork belly was a lot of pork belly and not much else. Not aSummer fare. Needs a side to cut all that fat. Terry our waiter was lovely. Yes, he looks exactly like Ray Liotta before theChantix commercial and all the plastic surgery. Super nice man, the waiter. Don't know if Liotta was. Would definitely go backand so their mussels and charcuterie board! Great Food, Super cute place. Great vibe. Go. Oh...wine, champagne and beer only. NO Cocktail service. We went to Dear Margaret last night for an early anniversary celebration, and it was perfect! Dear Margaret is quaint, inviting,... and one of those places you can go back to again and again (and we will!). Our server, Terry, was delightful. He offeredsuggestions and explanations of the menu, and his wine recommendations were excellent. His enthusiasm really was a highlight. Weespecially enjoyed the tomato salad and the walleye. The presentation and interesting ingredients really showcased the localproduce. Read more

Oh my god what a beautiful meal. This place deserves all of the hype and more. Dear Margaret was a revelation. The dining room... is so simple and warm and inviting. It feels like you’re being invited in to someone’s home. The service was fantastic. Ourserver was clearly passionate about the vision and food of the chef. Each dish was plated beautifully with magnificent flavor. The baguette was absolute perfection. The steamed asparagus was nice and light with a beautiful sauce to compliment. But theduck breast was the winner. Each bite was so flavorful and complex. The pairing against wild rice and onion purée seteverything off. Just a stunning meal and I hope to return asap. Read more
