First time we went, several of us ordered the apple pancake. The menu said it would be 30/45 minutes. An hour later they came.... Everyone else was done eating and it wasn?t the best. The second time we went, I ordered a waffle with blueberries and whippedcream. The whipped cream was some fake topping and the blueberries were some mushy sauce, not real blueberries. Today, I ordereda scramble with a side of corned beef hash. The corned beef hash didn?t come until we were done eating. She took our creditcards to pay and didn?t come back till at least 15 minutes later. This was way too long to hold on to a credit card, and she waswaiting on other people. This is exactly the place you imagine when you think of an old school family diner. Overly large menu with every item you can... imagine with horribly average photos? Check. Place so large it could fill 10 parties of 20 that all walk in at once afterchurch? Check. Coffee and pie at night or pigs in a blanket in the morning? Check. Or maybe you just want a cup of creamy soup,a club, and a big basket of random mixed bread? They got that too. It ain't fancy but it's everything you want when you think ofa family diner. They get one star off for having a full bar and not utilizing it properly. You know what I like with my amazingwaffle with whipped cream in the morning? A mimosa. You know what I dont like with my waffle? A $13 price tag for one mimosa. Ina city that you can spit in any direction and find a bottomless deal for $20, it just seems like a wasted opportunity. So disappointed, been here before and the service was good but after today I won?t go again. Went had a seat with my niece and... after waiting over 10 minutes 2 guys walk in and right away was taken care of. I told the waitress that we were there first andshe reply she didn?t see us and ignored us. I guess my money is not as good as other people. By the way we are Hispanic the guyswere white. This place came up to 3 stars because our server was excellent and that makes a huge difference. The head guy (possible manager... or owner) could take a few notes Not very friendly or polite. Upon paying for our lunch didn?t even greet us or thank us foranything. Very dry. Smile we are friendly diners. Food was ROUGH and that?s all I?m gonna say about that. Restaurant caters toa much older crowd. Lacks proper advertising outside the establishment. Upon arrival I thought we might have to turn backbecause the establishment looked to be closed. One of my favorite diners/restaurant that has been around many many years & thankfully survived. Service was prompt for a... Saturday afternoon. Prices are decent. My only complaint is the waitress did not enunciate well and seemed bothered by us whenwe asked her to repeat some of the food choices. I would advise for her to speak louder and clearly, with the conversationbackground noise, its a little hard to communicate sometimes. Thanks for the good food! Read more
Have been coming here for about 20 years and the food is delicious! Also the staff makes you feel like a part of the family.... It?s hard to pick a favorite dish, but I can?t get enough of their patty melts and monte cristos. Not to mention, their soupsare ever so amazing. You also get a good portion for what you pay for. Typical breakfast/lunch spot. The wait staff was very attentive. Prices were fair and did was good.
