Poor customer service! I went there only to pick up a Doordash order, and was purposely ignored by two employees. The facility... was not busy at the time, so there was no reason for me to sit there for over 20 minutes before finally flagging someone downfor an order that was already made and sitting on the counter. I used to love the food even when the service was lacking the Mac and cheese on Sunday 9/4 was absolutely horrible, it tasted... boxed and not baked and the cheese was sliding off the noodles, my dressing was way too wet and my Turkey wing was just ok ? forthe price i pay i want my food cooked right and hot ! One Sunday I was craving soul food so I stopped at Dan?s. I purchased the fried chicken which was hard, and salty. The Mac and... cheese taste like boxed kraft mac and cheese sauce that you can buy in the grocery store, and the dressing was a disgusting messit taste like someone had sprinkled a whole bottle of sage in it. I know everyone has their fav soul food in Chicago but this is a decent contender. I went with the classic fried chicken, mac... and cheese and corn bread and wasn't disappointed. I had a beef short rib with dressing, Mac and Cheese, & cabbage. My daughter had baked chicken with greens, dressing, and Mac... and cheese. Everything was fresh, and very tasty. I only wish that i could have my first pick (rib tips). It was close toclosing time so not to many choices. But very good choice for dinner. Prices are what I would expect for the meal. Worth it !!! Don?t eat here. The restaurant has an old mildewed smell in it that ruins your appetite. I ordered pot roast which comes with 2... sides. I ask for one side to be candied yams and was told candied yams was not a side and was considered a dessert. The potroast was very bland tasting, and the Mac and cheese is made out of a box rather than homemade. The greens were can made ratherthan homemade. I will never eat her again, and I would suggest you don?t either. Read more
