Reviews for Ciccio Mio in Chicago, IL
Absolutely among the best places to go for an Italian fare (more specifically, pasta) in Chicago. Our hostess was very helpful... and hospitable. Definitely start with a drink as here they know how to conduct a harmony of alcohols sweets and sours. Then youwould be impressed by the bread - we certainly were by this rare ultra fluffy yet consistent species! The salad would be a goodchoice for starter as it’s on the lighter side (save your stomach after the bread and for the entrees) while at the same timevery delicious. The spicy vodka rigatoni was the most popular item and proved to be irresistible! Also fell in love with theravioli primavera - the ingenious addition of the greens made it a truly rare and precious find! Too full and save the dessertfor next time! P.S. There aren’t many tables in their intimate but small indoor dining space (see photo) so it’s verydifficult to make a reservation. But they have an outdoor patio and do take walk-ins - so don’t be discouraged ;) Read more
Ciccio Mio is an amazing spot that I wish had more seating. It's small and intimate but the dishes were absolutely delicious. I... would definitely bring a date here. Read more
Little hard to find due to small sign but it had a great ambience. Would strongly recommend making reservations because of... limited number of tables. Servers were very friendly and cocktails were lovely. Bread was great but was not impressed with thefood. Spicy vodka rigatoni was good but Paccheri with saffron mussels had a grainy texture and a fishy taste that I did notappreciate. For my party’s celebratory occasion, the restaurant surprisingly served us a gelato that we did not order & wewere charged for. I had a high expectation due to many wonderful reviews but was greatly disappointed. Update: Had a chance totalk to Ciccio Mio team and was impressed with how receptive they are with customer feedbacks. I am willing to return to giveCiccio Mio another try. Read more
The evening I went here the customer service was amazing. I ordered the spicy vodka rigatoni, and it wasn’t too spicy at all.... It had enough spice to give the dish a kick, but it was still edible. The spicy vodka rigatoni was delicious, I would highlyrecommend it. There was a two hour limit, unfortunately. They are nice about it but I’m not a fan of feeling rushed. It is asmall eating area though, and very cozy. There’s a lot of charm to the restaurant. Again, the customer service was amazing. Our food came out later than expected and they gave us a complimentary dessert (they may have given others the same dessertthough, as they were testing a new dessert for feedback). One of the employees was very impressive. He would come by and pick upmy empty dish right as I set it in front of me. He was very attentive but not overly attentive. I stopped a different employeeand asked for some Parmesan, and he returned swiftly with Parmesan in hand. Very happy with my experience here, and I highlyrecommend it! *I think the two hour limit was due to covid, not sure if they have that still* Read more
Ciccio Mio has a beautifully designed interior and is quite cozy. The bread, olive oil, pickled vegetables, and prosciutto were... delicious ????. The waiter was knowledgeable and kind. The main dishes were disappointing. The spicy vodka dish was ok. Thepasta dish with the mussels were pungently fishy. The desserts were pretty to look at and the taste again was average. Thepavlova was average and what was expected :) sweet. The confusion came when we received the check at the end, when a birthdaydessert (ice cream with salt in a pretty cup with a mysterious candy looking wrapper next to the cup) was added to the bill. (Wehad not asked for the special dessert, but it was brought out, with good intentions by the restaurant. Which at the end wasadded to the tab) Read more
Visited from Toronto and could not have been happier with the food and service I got. Alfredo was very kind and very attentive... to our wants. He also gave me a gift and dessert on the house for my birthday. Will definitely go back to Chicago just to visitCiccio again! Read more
A very charming 10 table boutique Italian restaurant. Great cozy atmosphere, food was great they fly in their burrata from... Italy, had 700 day aged prosciutto etc. Service is excellent. All around extremely impressed. What impressed me the most is thewaiter Wes recommended a bottle of wine that was very good but not expensive. I would’ve paid far more for one but didn’thave to. If your ever in Chicago I would highly recommend that you eat here before you leave. Read more
