Reviews for Chez Moi in Chicago, IL
As a date spot, Chez Moi is not bad. The ambience is there for a romantic setting, but I did find that it was a bit too dark... inside. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was very quiet with only 3 other tables sat besides me. I had a reservation and wassat quickly. I got the foie gras (not pictured), special of the day which was Chilean sea bass, and the apple tart. The portionswere bigger than I thought they would be, and the flavors were well done. The sea bass was tender and had a clean and freshtaste; I just wished that the fish to vegetable ratio was adjusted. For the three dishes I got, I noticed that they seemedoverly sauced and so it felt soupy and messy. Service was friendly and attentive. Read more
The lamb shank with couscous was the absolute best meal I've ever had and was the perfect way to end a long weekend in Chicago.... Cosme, our server, was also very friendly and attentive. I wish I could eat there every month. Read more
A favorite neighborhood spot! The onion soup, vegetarian cassoulet, and gateau Breton were incredible. Great brunch option too,... especially when the sidewalk seating is available! Read more
We loved this restaurant so much we came back the next night. Far and away the best food we had in Chicago. The shrimp risotto... is melt in your mouth good and the salmon was delicious. Even the roasted vegetables were superb. We fell even more in love withthe restaurant when our very kind waiter ran two blocks to hand us our leftovers after we left them on the table. Highlyrecommend this restaurant! Read more
Delicious french food in a homey, unpretentious space. Would highly recommend the escargot, gateau Breton (shortbread dessert).... Service was incredibly nice - amazing spot for a low-key date night. Will be coming back! Read more
Great place, for great cuisine with great service. We dined for brunch on Halloween celebrating two October birthdays. I ordered... the Croque Monsieur with several Bloody Mary’s, the others ordered the Crepes Grand-Mère au Gratin, French Quiche Lorraineand the Eggs Benedict. The room make over looks really good. Nice job. Theo, our server was attentive and accommodating. Iwant to say “thank you” to the gentleman sitting at the back table with four lovely ladies. Before he left, he told Theo hewas buying us a round of drinks. I think the gentleman was Chad, the GM.but he said he didn’t work there! But I, sure it washim. Glad to be returning. Love their mussels, French Onion soup, Beef Bourguignon. I’ve pretty much tried everything ontheir menu. So you really can’t go wrong. Read more
The meals were great! It was not what I expected for a French cousine for the portions size. It got a great taste but still... offer a considerable amount of portion size. Read more
I walked past this restaurant one day and was surprised I never heard of it before. It has to be one of the best meals I have... had in Chicago and it so reminds me of eating out in France except the staff doesn't speak French. Delightful menu, very niceportions and service and truly delicious bread! We were thrilled with everything and the prices were very good. I can't wait togo back. Read more
