I love Jerk Chicken and I like to try out different places throughout the city. I order the same thing at every location, a dark... chicken dinner. Honestly, the food here was very good. Reason I only gave 4 stars because they only give 1 side with thedinners. Literally every other jerk chicken restaurant gives 2 sides plus rice and peas with the dinners. It was a very bad lookseeing that empty pouch, knowing I could have spent my money some where else and received another side. Read more
Worst customer service ever. If I could give no stars I would. When I ordered a curry chicken dinner the lobby was empty. I... waited almost an hour and still no food. But I saw 4 people come in and pick up their orders.The cashier with the tattoos andalfro puff took my order and could care less about me waiting. I eventually council my order and left. It was my favorite Jerkspot but I will never return to patronize this restaurant again. Read more
Mid-August Saturday afternoon walking on the Lakefront Trail from 35th Street, we needed a snack to refuel before turning back... around. So we spontaneously found this spot online and then started salivating at the menu. We ordered oxtails and jerk chickenwing meals, plus another side of jerk chicken thighs. All of the food was very flavorful, and the service was solid. The onlycritiques would be that the oxtails were kind of small and the plantains were too sweet for my Mrs, but I still ate them. Thechicken was awesome, I didn't realize I was that hungry, but there were no leftovers. We also had cabbage, beans and rice, whichcomplimented our food. The jerk sauce that came on the side... Yum. I was dumping and dipping everything withit. Interior-wise, this is definitely a takeout place. There was no restoom, and the seating was minimal, but we decided to eatther anyways. We were carrying 40lbs worth of hiking gear for practice, but we made it work. Read more
I ordered the Ox tails dinner with the cabbage and it was AMAZING! The Miss' ordered the Curry Goat dinner with the yams which... she also enjoyed thoroughly! I'd go back if I lived here. Read more
This is my 2nd time ordering from here the food was good the first time and still good this time but the rice and peas were... spoiled. I thought maybe I was tripping but I was tasting it and spitting it out and smelling it like ok I?m not tripping thisis old so I threw all the rice and peas out but I still ate the chicken and cabbage and Mac n cheese that was good. The chicken by itself was not bad. However red flags everywhere. Cashier digging in her bra at the register pulling out... lipstick???? $22 Shrimp dinner and it's 6 medium size shrimp???? not the sides I ordered???? The jerk sauce is trash!!????Cabbage is bland???? the mac, yams, and rice and peas were below basic. Will Not Be Back. $49.84????????????????????I orderedthrough grub hub for pick up. I wish zero stars was an option. I always order from Caribbean jerk joint whenever I want jerk food and it has never given any... issues. In fact, it?s always been great quality. I ordered the 1/4 jerk chicken with mac and candied yams from them and thequality is terrible. My chicken was burnt and not edible(dry/hard), my mac and cheese was dry and seems like it was old, and myyams tasted like there was chemicals or some type of cleaner poured on them.
