There?s not many Mexican places in a very white area like Lakeview, so I decided to check this one out. The service was great,... and the lady at the register was very kind. However, the food was extremely lacking. I ordered the tamale dinner and was prettydissatisfied with how it tasted. The tamales were very soggy, and I felt like the rice could?ve had more flavor. The tamalesthemselves were not bad, but definitely not good enough for me to come again. Overall, I would not recommend this place ifyou?re familiar with Mexican cuisine; it does not hold up to the hundreds of other Mexican places in Chicago. Read more

Be prepared to receive the home cooking authentic meals! The experience just eatting here was so genuine it makes you feel at... home. My group dined here as it was on our way to another destination and it FAR exceeded any prior expectations. The portionsare filling, consistent, and overall delicious. The fried ice-cream is definitely unique as well as their mole! The salsa andchips make you want to keep eatting them! The staff is hilarious in both English and Spanish so take the time to talk with themfor fun! I personally would go out of my way to order from them or even go in.
