Reviews for BLVD Steakhouse in Chicago, IL
I was apprehensive at for bc the hostess was rude and dismissive but it got better. I went here for my birthday and my waiter... was extremely kind and took amazing care of me, the food was delicious, the cocktails were great, and no detail was missed. Eventhe bathrooms (yes the bathrooms) were sexy and had a nice aesthetic to it! Read more

BLVD Steakhouse is an exquisite American restaurant located in the West Loop of Chicago. As you enter the venue, it feels as if... you're in a time machine, taking you back to the glitz and glamour of the 1920's with a sparkling ambience dripping in crystalchandeliers, black and metallic seating, dim lighting, and an alluring spiral staircase BLVD spares no expense on setting thetone for an elegant evening. The soft music in the background also assists with creating an experience to remember. Dinner waswonderful! It included: Grilled Octopus, The Crab Cake, Organic Half Chicken and German Chocolate Cake. The cocktail wasChurchill's breakfast; my first time trying Scotch! Everything was flavorful, seasoned well, and delicious. The only thing Ifelt needed a little improvement was the presentation of each dish. I realize this doesn't matter to most people, however, Ilove all aspects of fine dining, to include culinary artistry by presenting the food in attractive and creative ways.Nonetheless, this does not take away from my overall experience and I genuinely enjoyed my visit. I would certainly recommendthis establishment for a luxe evening on the town. Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, dates, or just a night to enjoydelicious fare in a refined venue. Read more
Compared to other steakhouses in Chicago I would not recommend BLVD. The ambiance is beautiful, everyone was very friendly... (especially the hostess and the bussers and food runners), our server/the service we received definitely was lacking, the foodoverall was fine, nothing spectacular. The cocktails were a huge disappointment. I ordered an old fashioned with Bulleit, it wasserved in a dirty glass (which the bartender should have noticed), it was watered down, unpleasantly sweet, and missing aluxardo cherry - it was the quality I'd expect if someone ordered one from a dive bar...three others in my party ordereddifferent cocktails and said theirs were not good either. By the end of the meal I was wishing we had gone to Swift & Sons orRPM Steak or Perry's where I've always had a flawless experience from start to finish, not only is the food phenomenal, but alsothe cocktails are made correctly and are amazing (and never once have I been given a dirty glass), not to mention the service isalways impeccable. Nothing wrong with BLVD per say, but there are definitely better options for a steakhouse in my opinion. P.S. We told our server we were celebrating our friends birthday that evening and aside from a brief "oh happy birthday"acknowledgment, which seemed very non authentic, that was it - all he had to do was stick a candle in the dessert for her thatwe had ordered and that small gesture would have gone a long way. It's the little things that make for a memorable experience. Read more
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT Myself and 8 other people visited this restaurant yesterday 3/3/22 to celebrate my sister... birthday. The overall experience was terrible. First, when I arrived there was only 1 valet driver with a long line of peoplealso waiting for valet. Secondly, the pork chops I ordered looked undercooked so I politely asked if can have it cooked more sothat it’ll be well done. I also politely asked if my lobster Mac and cheese can be taken off because it was gummy andovercooked. As many restaurants that I have been to I’ve learned to never send food back (but you’ll see why in the photobelow) I feel it’s a insult to the chef and you never know what a person may do to your food. But I wasn’t go to pay $50 fora undercooked pork chop and $30 for overcooked lobster Mac and cheese. The meat was cooked a little more and brought back outthen a little bit later the general manager bought the Mac and cheese out in a bag for me take home. I told the manager that Ididn’t want the Mac and cheese he replied very loudly in front of everyone “I know you didn’t want to pay for the Mac andcheese so I took it off your bill but I gave it to you anyway because there’s no point of wasting food” I was humiliated andasked to speak to manager not knowing he was the manager. The issue wasn’t that I couldn’t afford my food, I had alreadyread the reviews and viewed the menu for this restaurant the night prior so I already knew what I wanted to order. I should notbe talked down to and humiliated in front of the entire restaurant because the food wasn’t to my liking. The bill came out to$911 with a $25 cake cutting fee that no one mentioned to us. It’s a beautiful place to visit but the manager and the food isterrible. Nonetheless, my sisters and I did not enjoy our evening and it was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced especiallycoming from a manager. Read more
The ambiance was beautiful, including the music. The food was average. The service was not good at all. I ordered two drinks, a... Caesar, crab cake, bone in ribeye, lobster Mac, corn, Brussels sprouts, and a desert. The ribeye (medium) was not hot or juicywhich seemed as if it had no marbling. Lobster mac had more of a cream (watery)than cheese. Our server (Jessica) frequentlystopped by the table and asked if things were okay. Two of the times i expressed that I was dissatisfied with an item, and bothtimes she just walked away without offering any type of resolutions. I know gratuity is included but jeez! I had high hopes forthis establishment , but I’ve never been able to overlook bad service. Especially with a $430 price tag attached to it. Read more
For our anniversary I took my wife to this restaurant and we ordered two entrees, one starter, one side and a few drinks. The... total was around $230. It was worth it. The service, especially by our waiter Gary, I was impeccable. I can't remember howmany times they cleaned our table but it was a lot. The recommendations were great, the ambience was world class and the overallexperience was better than anything we had in Hawaii. Just a caution, the food might run a little bit salty for some. But I'mnot removing any stars because the experience was six stars by itself. If you're thinking of a date night or an intimate groupdinner then look no further this is a place for you. Read more
